Storyline

Jellystone Park is celebrating its 100th anniversary, however it may be for the last time, because attendance is down and Mayor Brown wants to close the park and sell the land. If the park is closed, Yogi Bear and Boo Boo will lose their home. They join forces with Ranger Smith to save Jellystone from closing forever. Yogi must really prove in this endeavor that he is "smarter than the average bear". Written by Douglas Young (the-movie-guy)

Trivia

Yogi, the cartoon character, has an iconic pose often used in comic books, advertising, etc. He is leaning, one arm extended, legs crossed at the ankles. Tom Cavanagh replicates this pose in the background of one of the scenes. See more »

Quotes

Ranger Smith: Yogi, that's the problem, all the thinking! Hey, you know what would be great? If you didn't think, if you could just be a regular bear; you know, sit in the woods minding his own business. But nope: you're different, you're SMART, and you have to spend your days being selfish and destructive while everyone else pays the price! I'm sure it's never been enough screwing up my life. But this time, you had to go and bring down this entire park. So tell me Yogi, how smart are you now?

Very enjoyable, fun film
18 February 2011 | by See all my reviews

I don't really understand the negative reviews for this film. It was exactly what you would expect a new film about Yogi Bear to be. If you've ever watched Yogi Bear you know what you're going to get. Nothing profound or complicated, just simple childish fun. Good acting, great cgi, and loads of funny moments. What more do you want for goodness sake. Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake are excellent as Yogi and Boo Boo, Anna Faris is just lovely as always, and Andrew Daly was super creepy as the Mayor. Saw it in 2D not 3D so can't comment on that. To summarise, it's Yogi Bear, not anything profound, or deep, or stirring, just simple easy escapism. Forget about being an adult for an hour and have some fun.
