Forget Hannibal. Forget American Horror Story. Forget “The Rains of Castamere.” You want harrowing? You want soul-crushing blackness with a side of trauma? You want pure, unforgiving narrative nihilism? Try on the penultimate episode of sadly-departed cop drama Southland. Whereas the typical episode hones in on a few plotlines between seven or eight characters, “Chaos” revolves mostly around a single, nightmare-inducing act: the kidnapping of two of our principal characters by a pair of deranged meth-heads. On paper, it sounds like your average “Very Special Episode” of… really, any cop show ever. The “team member(s) get nabbed and have to be rescued by the rest of the team” setup is well-worn territory. “Chaos”, however, is a different beast entirely. Based loosely on a real incident, “Chaos” earns its title honestly, unfolding seemingly without rhyme or reason, »

Fresh off the show’s four Golden Globe nominations, Netflix has released an almost operatic new trailer for the upcoming second season of House of Cards. The new string of episodes finds Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright’s Francis and Claire Underwood continuing their ruthless rise to power as threats mount on all fronts. This trailer shows off quite a bit of new footage, and while it’s highly encouraging, I’m hoping that Spacey’s character doesn’t go full “horror movie villain” in season two. It could just be the editing that’s giving off a more viscerally sinister vibe from Underwood, and as a big fan of the first season I’m eager to see how showrunner Beau Willimon continues the story of the Underwoods’ rise to power. Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The show also stars Kate Mara, Michel Gill, Gerald McRaney, Mahershala Ali, »

Scott will play the role of Sam, an archaeologist who crosses path with Catherine and Vincent. According to EW.com, Sam has been living in isolation for several years -- possibly involuntarily. The experience has changed him, as you would expect.
Perhaps because of his past, Sam is described as a man with a short fuse "who can be charming on one hand and manic on the other."
Is he a beast? Whether Sam is or not, he definitely shares some characteristics with those who have mutated DNA.
First skyrocketing to prominence in 1996's "That Thing You Do!," Scott has appeared in numerous movies and TV shows over his career. Although most recently seen in "Southland," other TV roles have included "Gcb," "Sons of Anarchy," "Law & Order" and "ER. »

Here’s where it gets interesting.
