Welcome home Elliot Stabler!
shaheedsimon2 April 2021
I really enjoyed the different location scenes, as well as the lighting, shots and coloring. But even more, I enjoyed the intensity, darkness and the excellent performances from everyone. I'm already enjoying Sgt. Bell and can't wait to see more of her. Even more, I'm glad that Elliot is back.

Many Layers

Warning: Spoilers
Not the usual Law & Order formula but I'm in. The villains are part of the main cast and they have backstories. Great to see Stabler back. The chemistry between Elliot and Liv is still there. Hope to see Liv recur a couple of more times. I'm kinda bummed out that they wrote off Kathy like that. Maybe the actress doesn't want to play her anymore. She hasn't done television in a decade so maybe she did one episode as a favor.

A New Direction
MrsTheFrog2 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Utterly fantastic kickoff to OC! I see a few reviews have already complained that it doesn't"feel like Law & Order" but I kind of think that was part of the point.

Organized Crime is slick, mysterious, with an entirely different look and feel than usual. Chris Meloni is like a fine wine, and his character has grown up and refined beautifully. I loved that McDermott's character is a complicated Baddie who isn't even 100% sure his heart is in it.

The Ferris Wheel scene had me on the edge of my seat, it was shot like an action film. Fantastic! I am very much looking forward to what they do with the next 7 episodes.

Slightly Smudged 1st Episode

What I liked: Elliot breaking the 'rules of engagement'. What I didn't like: The Stabler\Benson tease.

Non-traditional Law & Order spin off( reminiscent and reminds me of) in the vein of CBS's FBI and CBS's cancelled series Ransom with Luke Roberts, Sarah Greene
skt-552484 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
"Organized Crime" is an efficient spinoff that is trying something different from the Law & Order universe and it's predecessors. Like "Ransom" (or FBI), It doesn't try to be fancy, it's not going for deep, it just delivers tense storylines and then moves on. These storylines are built around high-wire negotiations of one sort or another. Much fretting and sweating ensues.

And like the CBS show Ransom, Stabler doesn't work alone. He has a psychologist/professor Angela Wheatley (Tamara Taylor ) who susses out psyches, He has a high tech junkie database researcher Jet Slootmaekers (Ainsley Seiger )who's perky, pretty and kind of sneaky. He has Sgt. Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt) who's used to stressed-out people, and in the opening episode, Stabler takes on a new hire, Richard Wheatley(Dylan McDermott) , There's some sort of backstory hidden theory between Stabler and staff that's sure to be slowly revealed in the way FBI do slow reveals leading to ... something. This is also like David Krumholtz's Numbers and also touches of HBO's The Wire.

The thing that sets Organized Crime apart from other spinoff is that Dick Wolf is doing something serialized. This show supposedly abhors violence and tries to find a solution to certain situations. How refreshing for a LAW & Order spin off television show. Then you watch the first episode and see a sniper shot, a kidnapping, a punch to the gut, followed by a person being shot, followed by nonviolent Stabler pummeling a bad guy into submission and you realize, yep, this is a different type of Law & Order series without the dun dun sound and more of a problem solver type of spinoff.

A Hard Return
Hitchcoc15 April 2021
I've lost track of the Law and Order canon. I've not watched SVU for a few years. So I returned to the last episode leading to this Chris Meloni spinoff. While I have some catching up to do, I think I weathered it OK. The writers explain his character, Stabler, is of the old school which made him leave to work on issues foreign. After a great tragedy occurs he is determined to right the ship, but he is still a loose cannon, capable of harming his cases. There are some characters miscast but I will hang in there and see where it takes me.

It Says Law & Order But...
This might be the newest Law & Order series, but it does not feel like a Law & Order series. And that is the main reason why I did not like this episode. I am going to watch a couple more episodes and see if it can change my mind. But right now, I don't know if I'm going to keep watching the whole season.

I will say this, it was great to see Christopher Meloni return as Elliot Stabler.

Episode 1

Warning: Spoilers
Glad to have Stabler back in the Law and Order universe, and this show is a little different than SVU, but I don't know how much lasting potential it really has. It feels like it will get tiring fast.

Law and order reminds me of another Wolf show

I felt a distinct style connection to Chicago PD, thus was disappointed as not excited about that show. I will continue to watch and hope it gets better.

Not in the level of Wolf's Law & Order
azmogroupon8 April 2021
More of an action unauthentic show, very different and lower level than Dick wolf's law & order. Wolf's works (all Law & Order series) were very authentic and original and tangible. But this one looks like a fictional action movie. The actors are not as good either. This was a collabration between Wolf and others. I think that "others" part worked in negative way.

Not Your Usual Law & Order
headache21122 April 2021
The Law & Order franchise breaks the mold and goes for a Good Guy Regular vs Bad Guy Regular story line. Hopefully, this is a temporary set-up and the Bad Guy Regular will be quickly written out. Why? Because Dylan McDermott is terribly miscast as the Bad Guy. Absolutely dripping with "Please believe I'm a really, Really Nasty Guy" weakness, McDermott's character comes across as a simpleton with long encrusted Daddy issues. This is supposed to be a super-villain mastermind of organized crime? Christopher Meloni's lead character, Elliot Stabler, should have had this guy behind bars before the half hour mark. Other characters fall right into the usual Law & Order stereotypes. Nothing and no one outstanding in this first episode. Actually, the ferris wheel.operator came across as the most menacing character. Unfortunately, it turned out that he really was there just to run the ride.

Sooooo Slow
marymcfarland-018662 April 2021
I had a difficult time getting through this first episode. It was very slow paced and frankly does not feel even feel like Law and Order. Apart from Christopher Meloni, the casting is terrible...there's no chemistry among the actors and the story was just flat boring.

I'll give this one more episode, but it's not looking good.

Doesn't live up to the hype
marysammons-422202 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Aside from seeing Meloni again this show is mediocre at best. The cast is nothing special. McDermott is lousy as the supposed super villain. No chemistry among the cast. What little we saw of Mariska Hargitay wasn't all that good and she won't be on the show much I'm guessing. I think back to the original SVU cast and then adding Ice T. That was chemistry. Not just Benson and Stabler but the whole ensemble worked. The story here wasn't compelling either aside from Kathy Stabler's unnecessary demise.

WORST LAW & ORDER- EVER!!!!
jbs0162 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was pretty excited when I found out over 6 months ago that Christopher Meloni would be returning as Detective Elliot Stabler on another, new Law & Order franchise. Man, was I disappointed. The first 2 part episode (one SVU, one "Law & Order"-Organized Crime) was two hours I will never get back in my life. The story was pretty much standard, paint-by-numbers, ripped-from-the-headlines crime nonsense. The script itself was predictable and dull. Stabler and wife return to NYC, wife is killed, Stabler RAGES, cries, then RAGES some more! Uh, we've seen it all before. But the worse part was the horrible miscasting of Dylan McDerrmott as the show's villain. If we have to watch Meloni chase this moron around for 13 episodes, count me out! The show is a completely watered-down "Law & Order' reboot. The cast is extremely politically correct and mixed-race by design, as if MSNBC created the series. McDerrmott's character is an Italian mob boss's son, who hates his father so much he changes his last name to his first black wife's surname and tries to appear as a legitimate businessman. Poor Chazz Palminteri was stuck playing the mob father. His character looked relieved when he was shot dead in the head and killed! The worst part of the show is knowing how good it really could have been with the right cast, writers, and tone. What we get is a played-out, dull, "been here, done that", type program. I'm not even going to stick out anymore episodes because I can easily predict how this series will go. Plus, we'll get a weekly 5 or 6 minutes from the whiny actors who play Stabler's children blaming him for their mother's death. Take my recommendation and skip this show and watch an old "Law & Order" re-run with Jerry Orbach playing Detective Lenny Briscoe over this bland & sanitized show. Meloni should stick with Netflix fare such as "HAPPY!" in the future. NBC must have buried him in money to perform in this disgrace. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME on this garbage!

Please NO!!!

Didn't like meloni on svu, was too dramatic and intense. Don't think that the this series will be a last. Didn't he just quit the svu and because of money.
