Feeling a failure as an actress, Dot tries her hand at casting; Howard's doctor prescribes a solitary vacation; Ginger finds out the sex of Jan's baby.
Another ho-hum episode with not much going for it. Dot whines and complains again about her lack of showbiz success; Howard plans yet ANOTHER vacation sans Nancy. It's not really believable that Richie would give such personal information to Ginger over the phone instead of waiting to tell Jan himself.
There is one small funny moment where we see Dot hissing at Nancy behind her back. Also, Sonny describes Howard's trip as a "boat to Score City" and tells Nancy to not let him "swim to Sodom and Gomorrah."
Sonny does some Dan Quayle bashing which dates the episode.
