The psychological journey of Tom, a depressed insomniac locked in a small Chinatown studio that he's afraid to leave. Grieving the loss of his wife and daughter, he hallucinates about his childhood heroes: Ben Franklin, a samurai, a '70's sitcom star, and a comic-book character. Meanwhile, Valkyrie, a beautiful trauma surgeon--endures a series of disastrous Internet dates while trying 'to find the last real man in New York City, by midnight.' Belonging together but unaware of each others existence, Tom and Valkyrie struggle to discover what it means to be a man--only to find the heroic common denominator of both sexes. He wants to be alone, but his heroes won't leave him. She wants to be in love, but her standards won't let her. Do parallel lines ever meet?
