Well, if this casting line-up doesn’t impress you, then I am not sure what will!
The Hollywood Reporter announced today that Ray Stevenson (pictured), Jaime King and Stephen Moyer, along with Robert Duvall and James Caan, will star in a new post-apocalyptic thriller called Tribes of October. Tribes is being helmed by Philippe Martinez, who is also producing the film.
THR described Tribes of October as a film set in a future in which New York has become surrounded by an endless desert plagued by heat storms, and the city's technology is such that nothing made after 1960 works anymore. In this environment, a detective (Stevenson) goes after a Mafia don (Caan) who is going after the remnants of the NYPD, led by Duvall. The detective is simultaneously searching for the love of his life (King). Moyer plays a cynical and street-smart detective.
Filming should start sometime during the summer in Michigan.

• Fango got the scoop on street dates for a trio of horror titles coming to DVD in late summer/fall. Dark Sky Films revealed when you’ll be able to pick up Marcel Sarmiento and Gadi Harel’s fest-acclaimed Deadgirl and Gregory Mandry’s Brit shocker Gnaw, while Genius Products has announced its slot for Philippe Martinez’s The Chaos Experiment.
Deadgirl, which begins with a couple of teenaged guys discovering a naked, chained, apparently undead young woman in an abandoned mental facility—and one deciding to have his way with her—arrives September 15, while Gnaw, about vacationers who stumble upon a house full of cannibals (see previous item here), arrives August 11. Chaos Experiment, about a psychotic professor (Val Kilmer) attempting to prove his global-warming theories by imprisoning six people in a steam room (see first set report here), is coming August 4. Stay tuned for full disc details and cover art on all of these,

Two and a half hours west of Detroit sits the city of Grand Rapids—an unspectacular Midwestern location, but the one where director Philippe Martinez has opted to shoot The Chaos Experiment (a.k.a. The Steam Experiment, the title under which it will be released internationally). With a cast that features such names as Val Kilmer, Armand Assante, Eric Roberts and Patrick Muldoon, along with Quinn Duffy and sexy actresses Eve Mauro, Megan Brown and Cordelia Reynolds, it’s unsurprising that, as Fango arrives on set at 9:00 on a cold Wednesday evening, an excited crowd is gathered behind mildly perturbed-looking security guards, eager to catch a glimpse at the sort of movie stars that rarely set foot in their hometown.
Fango is led to the set where an uneventful bar scene featuring Assante and Martinez’s daughter (making a cameo as a barmaid—the director, whose sister Karinne

Fango got the word that the Philippe Martinez-directed psychothriller originally titled The Steam Experiment has now been retitled The Chaos Experiment for U.S. release. We also got ahold of some new exclusive photos from the movie, which you can see below.
Scripted by Robert Malkani, the movie stars Val Kilmer as former professor James Pettis, who attempts to prove his theories about the dangers of global warming in the most extreme way possible: He kidnaps six people and traps them in a Turkish bath to prove that the oppressive heat will cause them to break down mentally. His victims are played by Eric Roberts, Megan Brown, Patrick Muldoon, Eve Mauro, Quinn Duffy and Cordelia Reynolds; Armand Assante also stars as the detective interrogating Pettis, who will only disclose his captives’ location if his beliefs are printed as a front-page newspaper story.

Eve Mauro's hot, steaming hot, apparently, in this new photo set from the upcoming thriller The Steam Experiment . She's just one of a number of hostages caught in a university professor's experiment that tries to prove that humans will devolve into chaos under the pressures of global warming. Armand Assante, Eric Roberts, Megan Brown and Patrick Muldoon are also caught up in the heated game put on by Val Kilmer (as the professor). Mauro talked to us in-depth about the project last September while she was on set, for more on that click here . Genius Products picked up the film for distribution recently. We're awaiting word on a release date.

To your right you can see one of a few pics that dropped recently from The Steam Experiment, the serial killer film on its way from director Phillippe Martinez, which Genius Product recently nabbed for distribution.
Not a bad way to start off your hump day, is it?
Head over to Styd to see the rest of the pics; The Steam Experiment stars Val Kilmer as a crazy university professor who nabs six hostages (the luscious Eve Mauro, right, among them) and locks them in a room to prove a point about the effects of global warming. Armand Assante stars as a detective trying to bring the madness to an end.
No word on a release date yet, but I’m guessing it’ll be direct-to-dvd; look for confirmation soon!
