I haven’t watched any of The Lord of the Rings films since 2004 but I’ll definitely be sitting down with them again when they hit Blu-ray on April 6, 2010. Warner Bros. Home Video just released a two-minute trailer showcasing all the films together again and it was a reminder of why we fell in love with Peter Jackson’s masterful adaptation in the first place.
As we reported yesterday, Wbhv is releasing the theatrical versions of the films in a nine-disc box set which will include the Blu-ray versions of the films, mostly the features from the original DVDs, and a digital copy of each film. The set will retail for $99.98 but since that’s the Msrp, you’ll probably be able to buy it for slightly less (my guess is somewhere around $75-80, at least when it first goes on sale).
