Aged Stanley is nearing the end of his currently unhappy life. He decides to take decisive action to make his final golden years what he wants them to be. His resolve is strengthened by listening to Earl - the driver of the seniors shuttle service who is taking him on his errand to the bank - whose discussion with his wife and daughter makes Stanley know that Earl is headed for a life as unhappy as his.
