- Eric, Vince, and Ari go all out to sell their new movie. Drama has another memorable turn on a talk show.
- Ari shows interest in Eric's indie script, imagining it as a big studio production with Vince as the lead, but the novice writers, believing they now have a bidding war on their hands, up their price. E had offered the script exclusively to Amanda, but Ari convinces E that its his job to get the best price for his clients & E allows Ari to take the script to a general Studio heads meeting.
Amanda tells E that Ed Norton has offered 100K/300K (this means that the writers get $100K upfront and another $200K if the movie gets made). But LB & Nick sense the bidding war (when they hear that both Ed Norton and Vincent Chase are interested in the script) & want 500K and a guarantee that the movie will be made. Ari gets an offer from Steve Parles for $ 350K, but he doesn't want Vince attached to the project. Ari refuses to take any offer without Vince attached to the movie.
E now goes to Amanda and tells her that Ari got him a better offer from Steve Parles. Amanda is angry at E as she put her reputation on the line to take the script to Ed Norton. E also pushes back saying that Amanda has a conflict of interest as she represents Ed Norton and low-balled E's clients on her first offer. Amanda refuses to get into a bidding war & walks out.
Ari and Vince decide not to accept Steve's offer and to continue pitching the project to other studio heads. Ari takes Vince to 7 meetings & none of the studio heads want Vince, but they want Smokejumpers. Most of the them say that the script will be too expensive to finance with Vince tied to the project. Vince even agrees to take the second lead role, as he is not getting leads. Ari gets the $ 500 K offer from Steve Parles, but with Vince not in the lead (he plays the brother to the lead)
E calls LB and Nick, who are not happy to lose Ed Norton, but are psyched about the $ 500 K. They accept the deal. Now Amanda calls saying that Ed Norton is back, with a big studio & is offering $ 1 MM / $ 2 MM for the script. E wants Vince in the second lead. Amanda can't accept as Allan Gray (Paul Ben-Victor) is the studio head, who will not work with Vince. Amanda wants E to call his writers and tell them about Ed Norton's offer for their script, without Vince.
Determined to postpone his post-breakup depression, Drama gets pumped for his guest appearance on The View (with Whoopi Goldberg and Elisabeth Hasselbeck playing themselves). Drama, set up by his Five Towns co-stars (who all brought their girlfriends), who have supplied the show with photos of Jacqueline, embarrasses himself by crying on national TV & walking out, much to the frustration of publicist Shauna. Drama gets drunk and removes his pants in public and is arrested for public indecency. Vince and E come to bail him out.
