Puertorican Angel Ramirez, who seemingly caused a black girl's fatal fall, is nearly lynched. Only father Tim, who believes in his innocence, and Sam, who sticks to justice, prevent lieutenant Gene Hunt's bigot bunch aiding the lynch mood 'to stop the race riots'. Then Sam's future mentor, now a young cop, and a rising civil rights lawyer, join his effort. Ultimately, the truth isn't enough, but justice is served.
