Storyline

Grissom's announcement he's planning to leave CSI takes a backseat when a nine-stab-wound corpse, bagged in water, is provisionally identified as the long missing adolescent son of the Jewish Stein couple, presumably the last victim of the infamously sadistic serial killer Nate Haskell. Further forensics show however their initial suspect, Gerald Tolliver, plausibly Haskell's accomplice, was murdered in his home. The team now searches for a copycat, believing a recent double murder also their work. Grissom attends a serial killers seminar from criminology professor Dr. Raymond Langston, who happens to have scheduled an interview with Haskell, whom Grissom manages to stimulate just right. Quotes

Captain Jim Brass: [about Langston] He's a little cranky for an academic, isn't he?
Gil Grissom: Actually, he's an M.D from back east. A colleague at his hospital turned out to be an angel of death, killed 27 patients before he was caught. Langston was the staff's research pathologist, all the morbidity evidence came across his desk, but he was unable to connect the dots. He wrote a book about it.
Captain Jim Brass: Was it any good?
Gil Grissom: I liked it.
