User Reviews

visually stunning; pace and tenor match subject

i'm waiting to see this again. better than the usual doc. i saw this with "zoo-haters" who had their minds opened up.

i liked it for its gorgeous photography, the telling of a story that needed to be told, and the suspenseful pace - fitting the subject matter.

the title tells only part of the doc. the other part is how wild animals have been kept in captivity throughout history and how current practices have wiped out the sins of the past. in addition, captive programs may be the last hope of many species. the film doesn't mention the it was captive breeding that brought back the American bison.

i wish this could be shown more. were there out-takes ?
