Sean Bean sits atop the Iron Throne -- for now -- in HBO's Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones, HBO’s elaborate, fully rigged primetime fantasy television series, was an instant hit upon its broadcast premiere in April2011.

Based on George R. R. Martin‘s best-selling series of novels A Song of Ice and Fire, the sweeping fantasy saga is set in the mythical land of Westeros, where summers span decades and winters can last a lifetime. It’s here that two powerful families — royal clans of kings and queens, knights and renegades, and liars and noblemen — engage in a deadly cat-and-mouse game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. As betrayal, lust, intrigue and supernatural forces shake all parts of the land, their bloody struggle for the Iron Throne will have unforeseen and far-reaching consequences. »

Joe Lynch Talks Knights of Badassdom

Huzzah! A fortnight (or so) ago, thou hast received a scroll (e-mail) inviting me for an early look at Knights of Badassdom. Of course, I couldn't pass up such an invite, since I have been following the movie on Twitter (@badassdom_movie) for awhile now and it has such an amazing cast, with Ryan Kwanten, Summer Glau, Steve Zahn, Margarita Levieva, Danny Pudi, Joshua Malina, and the incomparable Peter Dinklage.

For those who aren't too familiar with Knights of Badassdom, the movie centers on a group of live-action roleplayers (a.k.a. LARPers) who inadvertently summon a powerful demon from the depths of hell. They must then try to use their Larp fighting skills to try and contain the demon. When I arrived at this Hollywood event, I and the other press members were greeted by director Joe Lynch, screenwriter/producer Matt Wall, and producer Mark Burton. First off, they »

New Release: Peep World Blu-ray and DVD

25 May 2011 6:21 PM, PDT | Disc Dish | See recent Disc Dish news »

IFC will release the spirited 2010 comedy Peep World on Blu-ray and DVD on July 19 for the list prices of $29.98 and $24.98, respectively.

Sarah Silverman puts up her dukes in the comedy Peep World.

Directed by Barry Blaustein (The Ringer) and written by first-time screenwriter Peter Himmelstein, the movie zeroes in on the growing tensions between four siblings as they dine with their father (Ron Rifkin, TV’s Brothers and Sisters) to celebrate his 70th birthday. The “kids” consists of two brothers who are, respectively, a porn addict (Michael C. Hall, TV’s Dexter) and a screw-up (Rainn Wilson, TV’s The Office), a bitchy actress sister (Sarah Silverman, Saint John of Las Vegas) and a third son (Ben Schwartz, TV’s Parks and Recreation) who has just published the hot novel Peep World, a very thinly veiled portrait of the family. This dysfunctional lot should have called it a night after the appetizer… »
