Come on, only less than 2000 people rated this, if for some reason you loved it and think it deserves more you are not wrong.
The movie is very Japanese, in the west teenage love is more intense and kids are already doing more than this in their 13s. But understanding how Japanese people are and how they see life and memories as key to their personal growth is esencial for this kind of movies.
The movie is very cute and it is just a little summer story, it won't change your life or it might, it depends on how you see it.

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop is an unusual movie title, but it will make sense when you watch it, and you will feel warm inside with its beautiful meaning.
The animation is colorful and vibrant, it will for sure put you in a summer mood and take you back to those summers that never seemed to end, and that you didn't want to end.
You'll be smiling through the entirety of the movie, as it takes a touching unexpected turn in the second act that will grab your feelings and not let go.
The character's insecurities are pretty much part of their personality and are properly handled throughout the course of the movie, through subtle and not-so-subtle changes that show growth, acceptance, and confidence, more evident in the male protagonist, Cherry.
I would've liked to see a bit more development with the female counterpart Smile, but she was endearing and relatable nonetheless.
Overall, I really enjoyed watching this, a definite high note in this 2021 summer season.

You have to give were the credit should be given, this movie was gorgeous looking, absolutely phenomenal artstyle, every single frame of this movie could be a wallpaper for you're computer. Next positive is our main characters yeah both are pretty generic at start but I don't know how to describe it but it was just cute for a two polar opposites to fall in love. But as usual with these kind of seasonal anime film its lacking impact in terms of both story and characters, I watched the movie about 6hrs ago and I only remember the name of cherry and smile, and the story forgettable but very wholesome. Best positive of this anime is that you can recommend this to anybody and they will all love.

A charming tale of finding courage among fear and insecurity.
This is a character driven story.
It's about personal growth, and the challenges to get there. So, don't expect an intricate plot with twists and turns.
It's simple, like apple pie. And I love me some apple pie.
There are examples of masterclass level animation, from an exciting chase scene to the way someone puts on a facemask.
This is a movie I would happily add to my collection.

I enjoyed the film--
"Words Bubble Up Like Soda"--
It is very cute.
Slice of life cartoon-- Cherry and Smile are awesome-- Their friendship is great.
Cherry does Haikus-- Smile is an internet star-- They become good friends.
Cherry covers ears-- Smile covers her "ugly" teeth-- Together they fit.
Animation's nice-- very colorful and bright-- expressive for sure.
But not much happens-- People make some poor choices-- Cliched finale.
There's pacing problems-- Where's the hook, an hour in?-- Just do something.
Characters evolve-- Seeing change is always good-- Stories worth telling.
Give it a look-see-- You like mellow animes?-- This one's worth your time.

I think its a pretty normal movie, nothing special that captured my attetion except for some cute scenes and dialogues at the end BUUUUUUUT the color in the movie is really stunning and i will see it 30 times again just to enjoy the color!
Shout out for this movie colorist!

Music records and haikus.
A new anime movie on Netflix. Even though it was less than an hour and a half, I enjoyed this anime a lot.
The animation was visually striking and popping. I adored the style because almost every scene was full of vibrant color. There was never a full moment. The characters looked very cute too.
The premise of the story was pretty unique. The first half gave me such a cool vibe. I felt like cruising along with the characters and the dynamic city. In the second half was where the serious stuff happened. It was a cute story where the main characters tried to find an old record. At first, I wasn't sure how the haiku would tie to the main story, but towards the end, the play of words was clever and connect everything together well.
This leads to the two main characters. They both had their own insecurities and ways to hide them. However, I loved that they were tied together through haiku, and that the play of words and beautiful poetry helped both characters grow and face their insecurities.
My only problem was that the ending felt fairly rushed. There were two big moments, and the first one didn't have enough screen times to linger with me. The second big moment was beautiful and satisfying though. However, the emotion in the second kinda overshadowed the first moment. The movie should be a bit longer to make both moments, especially the first, more impactful.
Overall, a beautifully animated movie with a simple yet clever story and premise. For sure check out on Netflix. 9/10.

I found this really adorable with cute characters that I really wanted to get together, and it had me crying at the end because of how adorable and sudden it was.
I loved the uses of haiku's to express how they are feeling or what they know, and all of this is put together in pretty and colorful animation that makes it a good enviroment for the characters.
Also the music sounds nice and fits the pretty animated scenes through out the movie.

I loved every single second of this movie. From the start, i felt in love with the soundtrack and beautiful art offered by this masterpiece. I basically re-watched the intro like 5 times before keep going with the movie because the song was so good, then i made some research and found out the composer is Kensuke Ushio (now it all makes sens, the guy is a god with this type of music). In an other hand, some peoples may think the story was slow or ''cringy'' but i didn't feel it that way at all, may be because i am an emotional person, may be i like stuff that doesn't go to fast... idk, for me, the story was going in harmony with the music, the character development and the color palette, i means, the transition between days and nights are just well executed. In overall, this movie kinda gave me a lot of joy during my black days as an university student, haha, so if ever you are feeling sad or something similar, this movie will draw a smile on your face every time you watch it. Also, make sure you listen to its music while driving, its so peaceful!
Words bubble like a soda pop was a decent watch with okay storyline (although it could have been better). The colours were vibrant, although I didn't liked the animation much. Nonetheless, the story was a slow build romance but the emotional content and connection felt a bit lacking among the leads.
There was a story but it didn't dug deep and refused to elaborate to a 100% satisfying ending. The best part was the OST which felt quite unique and stayed well with the movie scenes. Atleast it wasn't like Uchia Hanabi, which was a total dud/disappoinment for me.
PROS: Simple yet attractive storyline The lead characters were good The OST of the anime was captivating
CONS: Didn't hate, but not liked the animation very much Story coulld have been more elaborative
My Rating : 6/10.

I am not sure why this has been rated so less! A perfectly sweet, coming to terms with emotions, and opening up story. The characters are quite relatable, with their awkwardness and teenage insecurities. The setting was also very natural and relatable. A lovely film worth a watch!

A very colorful movie. Its a story about how two people with social anxiety and insecurity met each other and became afterwards, then fell in love. Great voice casts and the animation was so freaking good. Highly recommended.

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop (2020) follows an insecure girl and a socially awkward boy as they spend the summer together. I really wanted to like this film but I just found it very disappointing. I wasn't invested in the characters and found the story hard to immerse myself into.
I really liked the colour schemes used, and the film was super vibrant. However, I wasn't the biggest fan of the animation other than this. The attention to detail was quite average and I expected it to be a lot better and also run a lot smoother, it almost felt delayed at times and really took me out of the immersion.
At the start of the film, I found the score to be very sweet and emotion. Although, as the film progressed I realised the score was actually very repetitive and it ended up getting on my nerves unfortunately. It just wasn't anything special and got old fast.
The characters were mainly very wholesome and likeable, but they felt way too cliché to the point where I feel like so many anime movies have done the same romantic dynamic, but better. The two protagonists didn't really have much chemistry and I feel the film didn't build up their friendship/romance well so it just felt fairly messy. Also, the dialogue was good but not compelling or in-depth.
This film wasn't all that engaging but it was a fairly easy watch. I wish it was more unique, as I often got bored and lost interest, I just expected a lot more to happen to develop the plot. The film really dragged, and for me this lost the emotional weight that it was going for. I did find the very ending quite emotional though. In addition, I feel the movie strayed away from the main plot too much and tried to balance too many sub-plots.

Such a beautiful story even my heart felt sad and happy throughout this movie. The two characters both came out of their shells in their own unique way made it an uplifting movie to watch.
I started watching this because Netflix described it as "Your Lie in April" meets "A Whisker Away." I enjoyed Your Lie in April a lot so I thought I would at least give it a try. After watching it I thought it was eh. First off the animation is definitely unique. It definitely screams summer which is a good thing. The music was another great thing. Though sometimes I felt like it was going for A Silent Voice approach and it didn't really work for me as much. The characters themselves weren't the worst thought I felt they could have done more with some of the side characters who barely do anything. It also kind of drag. I thought some parts didn't really need to be in the movie at all. But in the end it's a cute rom com. I have definitely seen worst would probably recommend to one of my friends. Overall I would give this a good 6/10.

This is a film that would have been brilliant 20 years ago. Now, it feels derivative, slow and uninteresting. I am sure some things have been lost in translation, but as a non-Japanese I focused on story, plot and animation, and they are all barely average. The idea is not bad, but I felt like the implementation was.
I mean, there are some cringy scenes in it. The mall overview scene at the beginning, made from 3D modelling but trying hard to appear hand drawn, only with the same cars appearing again and again and again. The discovery of an old vinyl disk in an area of constant high heat. The slow moving characters on the field and in the house and noticing things a few seconds after looking at the same spot. The thematic coincidence happening again and again and again. The same drawings reused for different scenes. And so many clichés that were used mostly for nostalgia's sake.
Bottom line: perhaps for someone understanding the subtleties of the language, this film is smarter than how it felt for me, but even so I felt like the animation was decent yet paint by numbers, the plot too contrived and the pacing all over the place. I could barely finish watching it.

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop had a terrible trailer I can say. It showed the whole movie. If only they had cut several parts and the movie would have been harder to predict.
There are no plot twists if you pay attention to every detail.
However, I rate this 10 as it brightens my day. The movie describes the happening world (without COVID w) with communication breakdown, which I found sympathetic as a teenager. This movie is really colorful (and it's a bit weird), making it really appropriate for summer.
In total, I highly recommend this movie~!

Cute movies, never seen before, new drawings! Nice and quiet story. The story of the old man who goes to intertwine with that of the boy and the girl is very sweet. Must see for lovers of anime movies!

The one word that can describe this movie is cute. The animation is great and the colors just pop. I doesn't have the most engaging story ever. But it is a well executed love story. It is a very fun, cute and lighthearted movie that just makes you smile the whole way through.
Will definitely be rewatching this next time I'm feeling down and need an injection of cuteness.
Stop hating so much Let happiness into your cold unfeeling heart.

I love mood&tone💝 It is colourful and vivid just like the character and the tone of this movie. I'm very surprised that it can make me cry in the end! This anime is better that what I'd expected. If you have a free time and want to watch a relax& full-fill movie I recommend this!!!

I absolutely love this movie. It is so sweet and the bright and colourful animation is absolutely stunning and beautiful. This movie is fantastic and made for all ages. I love the realism and seriousness of such a child friendly movie. Couldn't ask for more.

I think this movie is a really cute movie. It brings up different insecurities humans have and that other people will love you for who you are. The animation is also overall very cute with bright colors and funny animations. Unfortunately I found myself getting bored and waiting for something to happen many times. For a lot of people all the talk of haikyu, Japanese poems, might get boring. I actually liked that part and some of the poems were really cute and fitted the movie. The end were also very cute, but left me kind of unsatisfied.
