 Mark Wahlberg is apparently in final negotiations to star in an adaptation of the comic book 2 Guns.  The Boom! Studios comic was originally signed by Universal Pictures in August 2008 as a vehicle for Vince Vaughn.  However, both Vaughn and director David O. Back in the fall, "2 Guns," an action-comedy with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson was announced....and then sort of forgotten. The project was in pretty early stages and while Wilson, at least for now, no longer seems to be in the mix, things are moving forward with some very impressive talent. Deadline reports that Oscar-contender David O. David O. Russell is in talks to rewrite and direct Universal's big screen adaptation of the Boom! Studios comic book "2 Guns," the movie studio has confirmed to TheWrap. Vince Vaughn is attached to star in the film, which follows a DEA agent and an undercover Naval Intelligence officer who are unwittingly investigating each and who steal mob money for the good guys. The Fighter director David O. Russell is in early talks to rewrite 2 Guns, with the idea that he'll direct Vince Vaughn at Universal Pictures. The Marc Platt, Andrew Cosby and Boom! Studios-produced film, an adaptation of the Steven Grant graphic novel, is about a DEA agent and an undercover naval intelligence officer who unwittingly investigate each other as each steals mob money. Russell and Vaughn recently discussed working together on Russell's script Old St. Louis. Russell just was nominated for top directing honors by the Directors Guild of America. »
