Didn't expect much but actually enjoyed it quite a bit

I'm not the biggest fan of Rob Schneider. I like some of his stuff, couple of movies but overall I always though he pushed the comedy a little too hard and litlle on the nose. In this special though he feels very natural an relaxed, toned down and almost likeable. Some jokes were predictable but many weren't and I had some good laughs. I would ditch the piano player and the Roy Orbison impersonation feat. Elle King, or what was that suposed to be..? Overall a pleasant surprise though..

The piano player was really unnecessary👎.Not bad but could be much faster. I believe he is done.

Woof

He had no energy, none of his usual charisma. Outdated and old material, a few laughs but painfully bland most of the time. Definitely not worth watching. Such a shame.

The laughs were few and far between...

"Rob Schneider: Asian Momma, Mexican Kids" wasn't really all that funny.

That is essentially all that is needed said about this 2020 stand-up comedy show from Rob Schneider. For some reason, then I am liking his comedic acts a lot more in the movie, than I am enjoying him standing on stage and attempting to be funny.

Truth be told, then I laughed only twice during this 2020 show. So for comedy value, then "Rob Schneider: Asian Momma, Mexican Kids" was a bit of a lacking experience, and there are far better and more funny shows readily available, if you enjoy stand-up comedy.

I will say that Rob Schneider does have some good things in the show, and he delivers his material well enough. But the guy is just lacking energy and on-stage-presence. He just feels like a shadow milling about on the stage telling jokes that are more-often-than-not less than funny.

I am rating "Rob Schneider: Asian Momma, Mexican Kids" a four out of ten stars. While it was watchable, it was hardly a laugh-fest, and it definitely is not a show that I will be watching a second time, because there just wasn't enough funny material in the show.

cashing in on the old Rob.......

This is simply story-time about his latest wife and his kids and his youth and mother and a few other things that are not all that funny.

Not A Comedy; More Like A Thriller Without A Climax
nebohr12 August 2020
You're sitting there and you just KNOW somethings going to happen and you'll laugh and you wait and wait and the suspense builds because you just KNOW Rob's going to say something funny and OMG here it comes and...NOTHING. Again and again. Nothing. He's lost it. Does have a cute family, though.

We LAUGHED so HARD!
andielaps13 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
My husband and I just got done watching Rob Schneider's comedy's special on Netflix and we were laughing so hard, I thought we woke our daughter a couple of times. I even had to pause it the special so we wouldn't miss what he was saying next, because Rob had us in tears. I saw how some people wrote negative reviews and maybe they're just too young to understand his jokes. Code reading, was one of my favorites. We thought his special was great and loved the ending!

Rob Schneider What happened?
solojere11 August 2020
In the 90's Rob Schnieder was one of the funniest people alive. Men Behaving Badly was awesome, and he killed it on Saturday night live. I was so excited to see that he was making at least some form of a comeback with this special. Sadly, the magic isn't there. Sure there are a few funny one-liners, but overall, it just feels hollow and empty.

Accents?
susanmj11 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The accents ruin the jokes. Why couldn't he just be who and what he is? He's like a TAD Filipino, it's like he's playing it up, he's a white guy, he's mostly white, mixed white yes, but mostly white and tad Filipino. There's no accents, nobodys mexican. I don't understand what he's doing here. I was finished at 11 minutes.

Unexpectedly funny
pillowtrot11 August 2020
I was lucky to catch this show when it was filmed in Salt Lake City. It was way more funny (and delightfully raunchy) than I expected, and made me a fan of Schneider's. And I'll be honest: I never much liked Rob Schneider and thought he was kind of a no-talent, but came to the performance because we like going to the theater.

Surprisingly Funny 👌
Too_Canadian18 August 2020
Didnt have high expectations going into it, however, I was pleasantly surprised on how funny he was. He dissects the intricacies of married life, living with a woman, growing up with an Asian mother, and the insanity that ensues.

Funny & charming show
mlwieber-1216716 August 2020
I laughed so many times. His voices are great, the inclusion of his family is charming & sweet. His jokes are relatable & clever. I created this IMDb account just so I can write a good review. If you want to have a light hearted laugh with your partner or friends, this show fits the bill. And the duet at the end with Elle King is really magnificent. You see their genuine joy in being together, you can feel how much they love & cherish their family, and the song is touching. And wowww what an amazing singer Elle King is.

Had me laughing and moved to tears
flashforwardgrowth11 March 2024
Rob is great at standup! I really admire this comedy special because it had strong elements showing a heart of a person who is humble, has a great sense of humor and cares deeply for their family. I laughed so much! And a new experience for me in a comedy special, I had tears watching the extremely touching ending duet with Rob Schneider and his amazing professional singer daughter, Elle King. The duet was their first, probably only, in public duet. It was a special moment and struck such a chord for the tenderness of family love and value between father and daughter.

He shares a perspective from an older age. The perspective of someone that is somewhat tired and experiencing troubles of aging, but with tons of humor. Jokes are mainly about family, relationships and aging. He hits on some nice heads of truth as well as delivering punch lines. Some bits trailed on a little bit where he's just enjoying playing a character, but the bit is already done, but it's very brief.

Through it all Rob Schneider shows his heart for his family, relationships and laughing through changes in life. Very seasoned and respected person of standup. Highly recommend as it's a special moment and very well done.
