Ahead of its Us release this summer, Relativity Media has debuted a new trailer for Big Game, the new film from director Jalmari Helander (Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale), which stars Samuel L. Jackson and Onni Tommila; check it out below…

In the rugged countryside of Finland, a young thirteen-year-old (Onni Tommila) embarks on a traditional quest to prove himself by spending 24 hours alone in the wild, armed with only a bow and arrow. After witnessing a spectacular crash, he discovers the escape pod from Air Force One, containing the President of the United States (Samuel L. Jackson). When they realize a group of kidnappers is hot on their trail with the intention of taking the president, this unlikely duo must escape their hunters as they search for the American Special Forces team sent out to find them.

A couple of years ago, German writer/director Damir Lukacevic's brought us a cerebral bit of science fiction with Transfer (review), about an older couple who lease the bodies of a young couple and live their daily lives through these young, new bodies. I've had a chance to revisit Lukacevic's movie twice in the years since I first saw it and it has slowly become one of my favourite lowfi science fiction movies, more interested in ideas and performance than flashy visuals. It was only a matter of time before Hollywood took hold.

We’ve seen a couple of posters, and now we have the first trailer for Big Game, the upcoming survival adventure from Jalmara Helander (Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale), which stars Samuel L. Jackson (Kingsman: The Secret Service) as a U.S. President stranded in the wilderness after Air Force One is shot down, who has to rely on a 13-year-old boy (played by Rare ExportsOnni Tommila) for his survival.
