This is the first legal wedding in the series that doesn't involve Lex Luthor. Previously, Lex has been shown marrying Desirée Atkins in Heat, Helen Bryce in Exodus, and Lana Lang in Promise. Clark married Alicia Baker in a low-budget Vegas wedding chapel, but the wedding was not legal; since Clark was only 17 in Unsafe, Nevada law would have required him to have either a parent or guardian present or written, notarized permission to marry. I'm not convinced Lex is alive. Just because the king dies doesn't mean the entire empire crumbles overnight. I just followed the leads here to protect Clark.
