Fifty Shades Of Grey Goes To Berlin And The Lead Actor Goes To A Sex Dungeon

22 December 2014 10:48 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

I have no doubt that by now you’re probably tired of hearing The Interview and everything attached to it, so let’s move on to other, less controversial topics…like Fifty Shades of Grey. The Hollywood adaptation of E.L. James’ popular novel about a businessman who gets into an abusive “sexually liberated” relationship with a young woman will be hitting American theaters the day before Valentine’s Day this year – but not before it has its international premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival on February 11.

Fifty Shades of Grey will only be screened once in Berlin, with lead actors Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, director Sam Taylor-Johnson, and author E.L. James herself in attendance. I guess you could call this a kinky coup for the Germans, though I’m not convinced that this film deserves a festival premiere.

Meanwhile, Jamie Dornan has proven himself to not be the incredibly boring, »

Amanda’s Adaptations: Will ‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Film Be Better Than The Book?

27 September 2014 4:00 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Until that long-awaited trailer arrived, much of the adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey had been kept under wraps. The filmmakers are really trying to keep this film to themselves – probably because we have until Valentine’s Day 2015 before it actually arrives in cinemas so they don’t want people to find out too much too soon.

So, with the book by E.L. James dividing readers across the globe, will Fifty Shades Of Grey be the kind of adaptation which actually garners more popularity than the source text? The book seems to be loved and hated in equal measure so it will be interesting to see if people feel that in this case, contrary to the norm, the film was far better than the book.

First of all, there is Jamie Dornan to consider. Dornan, who took over from Charlie Hunnam as the intriguing Christian Grey, is an actor and former model. »

'Fifty Shades of Grey' Trailer: Get Your First Peek into the Secret World of Christian Grey

E.L. James’ naughty fan-fic tale turned best seller Fifty Shades of Grey set the record as the fastest selling paperback of all time when it was released in 2011. Chronicling the sadomasochistic relationship between naive college grad Anastasia Steele and young entrepreneur Christian Grey, the novel wasn’t exactly popular for its writing (most of it pretty terrible) as it was for igniting the kinky imagination of readers across the world. Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan were cast in the film adaptation, directed by Sam Taylor-Wood (Nowhere Boy), which is set to be released in time for Valentine’s Day — February 13, 2015. After Beyoncé debuted a teaser for the film over the weekend, featuring a new version of her hit “Crazy in Love," we...

Fifty Shades Of Grey Trailer and Images: Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan Get Kinky

24 July 2014 7:20 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Focus Features and Universal Pictures have released the first Fifty Shades of Grey trailer and images for director Sam Taylor-Johnson’s (Nowhere Boy) adaptation of the provocative E.L. James book.  The story revolves around Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) and her introduction to a whole new world of sexual discovery and risqué activities in the hands of billionaire Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).  The trailer looks like it could easily be for a softcore porn on Cinemax or a serial killer thriller (though maybe I'm getting the latter vibe because I know Dornan from The Fall), and it gets so ridiculous that you just have to laugh.  I assume the camp is part of its charm, and I will say that visually Taylor-Johnson has found a rather striking tone for the pic.  Regardless of what those unfamiliar with James' source material might think, the film is probably going to make fans (and Focus/Universal) very happy. »

Fifty Shades Of Grey: first trailer

24 July 2014 6:03 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Brace yourselves: the big-screen adaptation of Fifty Shades Of Grey has a first trailer. You can see it for yourself within...

Trailer

Nb. The trailer below isn't at all explicit, but bear in mind that it might be a tad Nsfw for the more prudish bosses out there.

Lots of people bought the book, so here comes the movie. Courtesy of Universal, El James' hit novel Fifty Shades Of Grey is now set for the big screen, starring Jamie Dornan as the unfeasibly wealthy, remarkably kinky Christian Grey, and Dakota Johnson as the wallflower Anastasia Steele, whom Chris soon whips into shape.

Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed the superb Nowhere Boy, is at the helm, which should mean we're in for a solidly-directed adaptation. The first trailer, which you can find below these words, certainly has a slick, luxurious look to it, like a Cadbury's Flake advert but with added spanking. »
