The Best Episode Of The Fifth Season
4 July 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

City On Fire is definitely not a disappointment.

But before we discuss why it isn't,let's first recall the events that have happened in it.Julie visits Wisteria and brings along her 40-year old boyfriend which definitely surprises her mother,Susan.Sandra Birch,a reporter also comes into the neighborhood to get a look at Bree and try to shame her to the press. As for the Scavos, the tension rises in the household especially between Lynette and Tom after the former discovers that Porter is running away when she got her older girlfriend pregnant.Meanwhile,it was surprising for both Gabrielle and Carlos that they find themselves included in Virginia Hildebrand's will. What makes it interesting though is that they are the sole heirs of her entire fortune. Then the men of neighborhood prepare for the annual "Battle Of The Bands" concert that will be held at The White Horse Club. Then unexpectedly,a fire breaks out.People try to save lives but unfortunately some of them die while doing so.

This was definitely far from a disappointing episode after having one previously for it was absolutely perfect. It had everything on it from drama, humor, suspense, entertainment and intense moments.Susan's reaction upon meeting Julie's older boyfriend will definitely elicit laughter among the viewers.Humor was also written all over Bree's storyline as well.As for the Scavos,it has drama written all over it.The tension that Porter's actions brought made it even worse. One can only feel as we get to see the couple in the midst of separation especially when Lynette found out everything. But the best part of it was the fire that broke out at the club.It was definitely shocking and full of intensity and suspense particularly when the people headed to the escape routes and found the doors locked.Overall,it was an unforgettable episode filled with many memorable moments.

With that being said,I definitely would rank this as the best episode of the fifth season and definitely among the best in Desperate Housewives.
