The Pharaoh's name "Tritanchamon" is a mix between the famous Egyptian Pharaon "Tutanchamun" ("Toetanchamon" in Dutch) and the Dutch word for "Three" "Tri" (as in K3 = K Tri).
The museum that is shown in the movie is the "Art & History Museum", also known as "Jubelparkmuseum", which is one of the five "Royal Museums of Art and History" in Brussels. It was found in the 19th century contains more than 11000 pieces of Egyptian art and history.
After K3 en de kattenprins (2007) this is the second K3 feature in which cats play a main plot part.
Dutch actress Mickey Vermeer, who plays the role of vendor, is known in the Netherlands as Black Pete (Dutch: "Zwarte Piet") in the successful cinema movies of "De Club van Sinterklaas".
