Wendy Williams was looking for an experienced daytime TV producer — and boy, did she find one. “The Wendy Williams Show” has hired Jennifer Brookman to run the controversial topics segments on the syndicated daytime talk show, according to insiders familiar with the situation. That’s the same part of the show that landed the host in hot water earlier this year after she made ill-advised comments about historically black colleges and the NAACP. A show spokeswoman did not have an official comment. However, Brookman comes with some baggage of her own: She is suing Rosie O’Donnell for slander, claiming that O’Donnell got her. »

Christie Brinkley and John Mellencamp have split. A rep for the pair confirmed the breakup to People, noting, "Both the mileage between their homes and their heavy career demands interfered with their ability to maintain the relationship." Brinkley, 61, and Mellencamp, 64, dated for one year and have "vowed to remain best of friends," added the rep. Last November, the supermodel talked about her budding romance with Mellencamp on The Wendy Williams Show. "I'm just having fun and, you know, we'll see," she said. "Yeah, I mean we're dating and you know, having a good time. You've been subjected to my private life enough so I'm just trying to keep my private life »
Lionsgate has reported earnings of $1.3 million, or 1 cent a share, for its first fiscal quarter ending on June 30 and a 35% jump in revenues to $553.6 million — both above Wall Street estimates.
Lionsgate released the results after the market closed Thursday. The stock rose in afterhours trading by 96 cents, a 5% gain, to $20 a share as of 4:40 p.m. Edt.
The announcement comes five weeks after Lionsgate announced a $4.4 billion deal to acquire premium cabler Starz, which is expected to close by the end of the year. Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer indicated in the earnings announcement that the deal remains on track and will benefit both companies.
“In addition to a very solid performance across all of our businesses, the most significant development in the quarter was our agreement to acquire Starz,” said Feltheimer. “Upon closing, it will be the largest and most transformative transaction in our history. The combination will accelerate the growth and diversification of both companies »

Mary J. Blige has filed for divorce from her husband, Kendu Isaacs, after 12 years of marriage, Us Weekly reports. The couple allegedly cited irreconcilable differences as their grounds; Mary requested to withhold spousal support from Kendu and has listed the date of separation as "to be determined." The couple has faced speculation in the past, and on The Wendy Williams Show in 2012, Mary even directly addressed the rumors, saying, "My marriage is not on the rocks. . . . But I would be a liar and my fans would hate me if I said to them, 'oh we're perfect and everything is great.'" Mary and Kendu join 31 other couples who have split so far this year. »

If this is the comedy Hollywood thinks millennials want, we’re screwed.
Mike and Dave Stangle are two hard-partying brothers whose frat boy antics always end up ruining the party. The boys have messed up enough family gatherings that their parents demand that they bring respectable “nice girls” as dates to their sister’s wedding in Hawaii so they don’t hit on other girls or do anything that could potentially destroy the big day.
The premise is very loosely based on the true story of the real-life Mike and Dave Stangle whose viral Craigslist ad for wedding dates led to a book and movie deal. (It doesn’t hurt to have a CAA trainee as a friend.) Hollywood felt there was enough fodder in their story for a movie, but it wears thin quick. What starts off as an adventure about two bros on a quest for dates turns into a battle of shenanigans between bros »

People behaving like animals and animals behaving like people. Two worlds collide in theatres this weekend!
Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates
You’ve got to love titles that really say it all. Yeah. What more can I say? We have Mike and then we have Dave. Guess what? They need wedding dates! Does it go well? Of course not! It wouldn't be much of a movie if it was just a simple Dm and everything was settled. See, Mike (Adam DeVine) and Dave (Zac Efron) have a bad rap for constantly ruining family events. In order to not add their sister’s Hawaii wedding to the list, their parents ask they find dates and behave themselves. Now where else does one put out the call for dates then on The Wendy Williams Show! This stunt grabs the attention of the disastrous Tatiana (Aubrey Plaza) and Alice (Anna Kendrick), who pretend »

Summer’s in full swing with big family gatherings and social events. It’s the perfect time for some raunchy laughs at the multiplex. Eleven years ago (no, really!) R-rated movie comedies made a big, big comeback when Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson were Wedding Crashers. Four years later, the lead up to nuptials ignited a comic trilogy with The Hangover. Then the ladies got in on the act just two years later with Bridesmaids. This weekend’s new flick doles out a bit from all those entrees in the funny flick buffet, expanding on a comedy staple (or main course in the food analogy), namely the comic team. This doesn’t quite harken back to Stan and Ollie or Bud and Lou, rather the inspiration may be a bit over twenty years ago to Harry and Lloyd, those Dumb & Dumber dudes, continuing through Harold and Kumar, on to various unions of Rogen, »

If it’s true that every generation gets the “Wedding Crashers” it deserves, then millennials have finally gotten some definitive proof that they’re doing alright. Starting with a timeless premise — young people are stupid — and spinning it into a broad, crass, and relentlessly amusing mid-summer surprise, “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” may not be the first Apatow-era comedy about twentysomethings coming to grips with the fact that they won’t live forever (and it’s certainly not the deepest, as it lingers in your memory for about as long as a Snapchat), but it might just be one of the funniest.
Very, very loosely based on the true story of short-lived viral sensations Mike (Adam Devine) and Dave (Ye Mighty Zac Efron) Stangle, this delightful work of idiocy introduces the Brothers Dim through rose-colored shot glasses, as the opening credits take us through all the family events that »

After catching word of Jennifer Lopez's recent comments about her on The Wendy Williams Show, Mariah Carey added fuel to their rumored feud when she dropped by Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday night and dissed the singer once again. When Andy Cohen straight up asked Mariah, "Do you know each other?", she frustratedly responded, "No!" The singer then went on to explain herself, adding, "You know what? I'm very forgetful. Apparently, I'm forgetful because I don't remember the fact that it was just like, 'Hi, I'm so and so.'" Watch the video above to see what Mariah says when asked if she thinks Jennifer is cool. »

Sherri Shepherd is all about moving forward. The comedienne was in good spirits during her visit to The Wendy Williams Show, where the talk show host couldn't help but notice Sherri's slimdown. "Did you get a breast reduction?" Wendy asked. Sherri repeated her question with a laugh, then quipped, "No, I lost 12 pounds and a husband!" She's referring, of course, to her ex Lamar Sally. The former spouses' divorce and custody battle played out very publicly, but Sherri didn't let it take a toll on her health. "I stressed for a minute," she told Wendy, "and you know, when you stress, you eat pizza and everything, but once I decided to say, 'Hey, I forgive. I »

The Daytime Emmy win capped a roller coaster two weeks for Ripa and Strahan after the news broke that Strahan would be moving on to “Good Morning America” full-time in the fall. Wendy Williams isn't buying any of the lemonade that Beyoncé is selling. While many people have speculated that "Becky with the good hair"—a lyric from Bey's new album—references Jay Z's alleged involvement with Rachel Roy, the daytime host called the whole thing into question during a taping of The Wendy Williams Show on Monday. In fact, she even insinuated the power couple paid off the fashion designer to take part in the drama in order to help sell more records. "So Rachel Roy, first of all, you're not this fighting girl," Williams began. "Unless you're on Jay Z and Beyoncé's payroll, and they pay you to mix it up for I guess sales for the »
When it comes to teaching young models how to work it, Naomi Campbell loves to be a mentor, and she doesn't let anything get in the way. The 45-year-old supermodel sat down on The Wendy Williams Show to chat about her career, love and the up-and-coming models of the moment, opening up about how she's helped mentor both Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid. In fact, Campbell revealed that she taught them both how to strut their stuff on the runway...in a hotel hallway, of all places! "Bella asked me last year if I'd mentor her and I said yes," Campbell explained to Williams. "I love [her and Gigi] both. They're really great girls. They're hardworking girls." She »
