In contemporary Prague a young musician is obsessed by jealousy for his beautiful girlfriend Klara. He engages a private detective to spy on Klara but this starts an uncontrollable series of accidents, misunderstandings and traps culminating in an unusual Venice. Written by
Il Caso Dell'Infedele Klara purports to be a drama about jealousy and infidelity in the modern world. It is, however, one of those European co-productions where the script appears to have been written on the back of an envelope, or even a pack of cigarettes. The simple story line follows a young musician who suspects that her girl friend is being unfaithful to him and so hires a private detective to follow her. Add a few unrelated and unnecessary mildly titillating sex scenes (probably added as an afterthought to bump up DVD sales) and you have it. The only saving grace is the veteran British actor Iain Glen who brings a quantum of respectability to the movie. A waste of time.
