Storyline

With America in a Captain Hammer frenzy Dr. Horrible invents a 'death ray' which he plans to use on the superhero at the unveiling of the new Captain Hammer statue. Penny is torn between the hero and the villain, realizing that she may have feelings for Horrible. The stand-off between Hammer and Horrible ends in an ultimately tragic event for the doctor. Trivia

The song 'A Man's Gotta Do' is prophetic to events that occur later in the show. Captain Hammer sings twice to Penny during the song that 'The only doom that's looming is you loving me to death'. And of course it is precisely Penny's love for Hammer which leads to Dr Horrible's rash actions and her eventual doom. See more »

At the end, when Dr. Horrible put his goggles on over his eyes, you can see the indentations in his forehead from the goggles pressing against it from at least three previous takes. See more »
