- Josh Scott: Please, let me talk to my wife. If I could just...
- Ed Lane: Josh, we can't right now, we can't.
- [to Lewis]
- Ed Lane: Spike's on less lethal. Boss is gonna need you with the gas.
- Josh Scott: Wh... what do you mean, "lethal?"
- Ed Lane: Josh, plan A is less lethal.
- Josh Scott: Less lethal?
- Lewis 'Lou' Young: Rubber bullets.
- Josh Scott: Well, how can you be less dead?
- Ed Lane: A knife's as bad as a gun. It never sticks, never jams, never runs out of ammo, and you don't need training to know how to use it.
- Jules Callaghan: [coming out of her house] Okay, all clear.
- Sam Braddock: Not that I don't appreciate a little excitement, but come on, I think we're safe.
- Jules Callaghan: You mind if I don't gamble my career on what you think? Huh?
- Sam Braddock: Unless one of your neighbors works for the SRU, it's not much of a gamble. Now, headquarters, that's another story. I trust you have an entry plan.
- Jules Callaghan: Affirmative. I'm going to drop you off a few blocks away, park my vehicle at H.Q., enter through the front. You're gonna wait a few minutes, stealth through the rear.
- Sam Braddock: I was kidding.
- Jules Callaghan: Yeah, I'm not.
- Mike Scarlatti: I told her - line-dry only. She keeps putting my pants in the dryer.
- Kevin 'Wordy' Wordsworth: Hold up, hold up. You... your mom still does your laundry?
- Mike Scarlatti: Hey! She's Italian, okay? Try and stop her.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: [driving the truck] You doing okay?
- Ed Lane: Yeah, yeah, I'm good, I'm good.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: 'Cause, uh, the other day at the station...
- Ed Lane: [takes off his sunglasses] Oh, come on, here we go. What?
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Look, I'm just saying. You look through the scope and you see things that aren't there. Maybe you need a break from the action. When was the last time you had a day off?
- Ed Lane: I don't need a day off.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Hey, we could all use a day off, Ed.
- Ed Lane: All right, thanks, Oprah, I forgot what a joy it was to ride with you.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Ed, I'm gonna run tactics. You and Lou run command post.
- Ed Lane: Wha...? Command post?
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Oprah says.
- Ed Lane: Yes, sir.
- Ed Lane: What?
- Lewis 'Lou' Young: You... in the truck.
- Ed Lane: What can I tell you? It's backwards day.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: [coming closer to the house] Any movement?
- Sam Braddock: No, but I definitely scared them away from the windows.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: A little aggressive, huh?
- [pats his arm]
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: You're doing good.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: [on radio asking about subject's husband] Eddie, Eddie, what's he saying?
- Ed Lane: That he's not involved with anyone.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: You believe him?
- Ed Lane: No.
- Hannah: What do you want me to say? Huh? What do you want? I lose either way, right? What kind of answer do you expect when you wave a knife in someone's face?
- Sarah Scott: I will know the truth when I hear it.
- Hannah: You're not going to like the truth.
- Josh Scott: [to Ed and Lewis in the truck] That one night was the biggest mistake of my life.
- Hannah: [to Sarah in the nursery] It was the night that was always meant to be.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: We can't second-guess whether an earlier tactical response might have had a different outcome.
- Kevin 'Wordy' Wordsworth: Due respect, sir, but it came down to talk or tactics, and you're the one that called talk.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: That's right.
- Kevin 'Wordy' Wordsworth: Because maybe that's the call a negotiator would make.
- Mike Scarlatti: Whoa! Whoa!
- Kevin 'Wordy' Wordsworth: Look, I'm just saying, all right? I want to know what Ed would have done.
- Mike Scarlatti: It was the Sarge's call!
- Lewis 'Lou' Young: I want to know too.
- Ed Lane: Sometimes you do everything right. Things still go wrong. That's the job. Situation was gray, the boss made a black-and-white call. We saved the hostage. Period.
- Ed Lane: [walking into briefing room where Parker is cleaning up the file] We need to talk.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: [doesn't look at Ed] Take a number.
- Ed Lane: [waits a moment] All right. I'll see you tomorrow.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: Hey, Eddie. I'm sorry. Today should have gone better. You... need to be back where you belong. Team needs you back.
- Ed Lane: I'm thinking, I'm... I'm gonna get Soph, I'm gonna get Clark, we're gonna go up and get a cottage, you know? Regroup, like you... like you said.
- Sgt. Gregory Parker: [smiles and looks back down at the file case and picks it up] That's great. That's great.
- Ed Lane: You know, unless, uh, you feel useless or something without me.
