Saw 8 directors revealed: The guys that brought us Predestination could be tackling the next chapter in world’s most famous modern horror franchise.

The Saw 8 directors were revealed via a production listings site.

Saw 8 directors – The Spierig Brothers

The Saw 8 directors may have been found. It is being reported that the German-born Spirit brothers, Michael Spierig and Peter Spierig, could take the helm of the eighth movie in the franchise, following their impressive work on Daybreakers and Predestination.

Saw 8 is being formally referred to as Saw: Legacy, and is rumoured to be going into production later this year. The film will be written by Piranha 3D writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, a fact we first discovered all of the way back in February. Plot details are being kept under wraps with the project shrouded in secrecy, but we know that this is pretty high on the agenda after »

‘Saw 8’ could go before the cameras by the end of this year

6 July 2016 11:51 PM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

The Saw franchise has been one of the most popular of the last decade. Starting in 2004 with its ground-breaking original, the franchise spawned six sequels and a seventh could go into production by the end of the year.

The film will actually be titled Saw: Legacy and will be written by Piranha 3D writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger. The mighty genre website Bloody Disgusting reports that a listing for the planned movie has been found on IATSE873, a site that supports a union of stage, theater and movie employees/operators. If the listing is true, it seems that Saw 8 will shoot be tween September 12th and October 21st of this year. Exciting, right?

The film has no director currently, but the movie will be produced by Dan Heffner and Oren Koules. A release is scheduled for October 2017.

The Saw films have grossed over $800 million worldwide, all from relatively small budgets. »

Saw 8 - aka Saw: Legacy - looks like it's finally pressing ahead...

The resurrection of the Saw series of movies looks like it’s definitely happening, with the news that Saw: Legacy looks like it’ll be filming starting this September.

The last we heard, the new film was being penned by Piranha 3D writers Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger. No director has been announced as of yet, though.

However, a listing appeared on the IATSE873 website (short for International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees and Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts, so we can understand why they abbreviated it), which lists productions filming in the Toronto area. Said listing was caught by the folks at Bloody Disgusting, who noted that Saw: Legacy is set to film between September 12th and October 25th of this year.

Lionsgate hasn’t confirmed this news, we should note. But if proven to be correct, »

Embrace of the Serpent | Review

17 February 2016 9:00 AM, PST | ioncinema | See recent ioncinema news »

Hearts of Darkness: Guerra’s Exceptional Exploration of Ruinous Colonialization

Colombian director Ciro Guerra charts an enigmatic narrative of parallel odysseys through the Amazon with his third feature, Embrace of the Serpent is no less intimate in its rendering of human interaction than previous films The Wandering Shadows (2004) and The Wind Journeys (2009), Guerra’s stark allegory of the extinction of indigenous cultures at the hands of well-meaning but ignorant white Europeans is powerfully resonant in this gorgeously shot film, touted as the first feature to be shot in the Colombian jungle in over three decades.

In 1909, ailing German explorer Theodor Koch–Grunberg (Jan Bijvoet) scours the Colombian jungle for isolated shaman Karamakate (Nilbio Torres), a guide he believes will lead him to an exotic plant known as yakruna, and thus restore his health. Karamakate, the last surviving member of his tribe, is incredibly wary of white men, and seems only »
