Storyline

Now Martha's cancer is diagnosed too advanced to be treated during pregnancy, Jack accepts that they must terminate her pregnancy. She refuses to talk and dumps him with telling everyone 'too soon'. Nicole's insensitive reaction and shameless probing about Elliot makes Riman realize how selfish she is, and he tells her to spend the holidays with her mother. Ric suffers another cruel succession of comfort and dumping. Tony tries hard to comfort where possible. Written by KGF Vissers

"I have to believe I'll be OK"

No-one has a good time of it in this episode and much of it is heart-breaking.The problem is both Jack and Martha's viewpoints are equally valid:he wants to save the woman he loves, she wants to save her unborn child. The situation is far from black and white and whatever they end up doing there's going to be a high fallout.

Meanwhile, Roman and Nicole continue to be at loggerheads. The tragedy here is that both of them are trying but just as Nicole seems to be being sensitive she goes and does says something stupid, whilst Roman can't bring himself to be honest with her.It ends with them both making a big bluff that they can't back down from...or does it?Was Elliot's appearance at the bus stop a coincidence or had he and Nicole planned it all along?

Which brings us on to Ric and Matilda, undeniable soul mates who clearly belong together-when the news about Martha breaks, they both automatically seek out the other one.Yet they both want different things and if they're unwilling to compromise then things are as doomed as they appear to be.
