Storyline

In Morocco a bomb explodes inside a nightclub while Ziva sings; in Washington, DC, Gibbs and his new gang investigate the death of a petty officer, Vargo, who died of a gunshot in his house trailer, without detection, four and a half months before. The team learn that a former buddy and shipmate, Roberts, died in the explosion in Morocco, and that Ziva sustained injuries; Gibbs speaks by telephone with Ziva, who says that Vance had tipped her about Roberts, who apparently was the target of the bomb. Vance tells Gibbs that an NCIS agent had blackmailed Vargo before he disappeared. After another shooting, Vance, Gibbs, and McGee reach a solution, and Ziva gladly returns to the NCIS. Trivia

When Agent McGee pulls up a picture of Agent Lee's NCIS ID after a phone records check, the Issue # for her ID is 867-5309, the same number in the Tommy Tutone song "867-5309/Jenny". See more »

Goofs

Where the team examine two personnel records on the plasma screen, the records describe each of two sailors as both E-4 and PO2, whereas those two terms are inconsistent with each other. E-4 equates to PO3, not PO2, and PO2 equates to E-5, not E-4. See more »

Quotes

NCIS Special Agent Michelle Lee: Look, I know you never thought much of me as a field agent. You probably never thought much of me as a lawyer.
NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs: Hmm, that's more of the profession than the person.

Is Jenny really, truly, dead?
30 September 2008 | by (Newcastle, United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Paranoia strikes!

In the opening credits, Lauren Holly is still being treated as a full cast member, although Rocky Carroll (the new director?) isn't.... ISTR that Lauren Holly didn't get full billing until somewhere towards the end of Season 3, so that doesn't mean that Leon won't go on being the new director. But although Kate appeared in 'Kill Ari, part I', she was credited as a special guest star. Here we have Lauren Holly NOT appearing, but retaining her full credit.

It's not just a replay of the old titles because at least some of the cast (e.g. Ziva, in her slinky cabaret dress) has new cut scenes.

Sky played the season 6 sneak preview immediately following the season 5 climax. I noticed that we never saw Jenny in the morgue (although we got to see Kate, bullet hole and all, in 'Kill Ari.'
