Manhattan billionaire Ross Baldwin's son Keith disappears after crash landing a small plane in the woods of Pennsylvania. Keith runs a small ski equipment firm, which may well run into bankruptcy. He always objected to meddling from his emotionally neglectful tycoon father, whom he considers a ruthless shark without conscience, but company security actually had to prevent an abduction threat for ransom. Keith recently contacted a Wall Street blogger to spread a rumor about Ross's health that caused the empire to plummet, so badly pa sold out, then tried in vain to undo his lies. Keith's competitor went bankrupt after Ross spread a rumor to rid Keith of him, but he blames Keith who hated Ross for that and tried in vain to help his competitor. Martin's dodgy lover Kim Marcus returns and her relationship with Martin develops, but he finds a gun suggesting she was involved in armed crime.
