Storyline
Eric and Calleigh guard William Campbell, crown witness against Miami's shortly released top mob capo Joseph 'Joey' Salucci, for the personal murder on AJ Watkins, who accidentally killed Joey's wife in a beach race. The safe house is physically wrecked by contractor Travis Drake's crane from a nearby inactive site, Campbell falls to his death. Ryan finds a drop of amphetamines-addict Kurt Greenfield's blood in the crane. Salucci's poker buddy Mick Ragosa's car left a paint trace on the site during the attack. The crane's computer recordings indicate it worked by remote control from a nearby parking tower. It has surprising DNA traces, leaving Horatio's team with two cases, plus finding Watkins's missing corps. Written by

This is a familiar storyline: a state's witness one day away from testifying and putting a mob boss away, gets whacked, despite the protection of CSI veterans Eric Delko and Calleigh Dusquense. In a very dramatic opening with a big crane demolishing a floor on a high rise, Dusquense is holding onto the witness who is ready to plunge to his death. He can't hold on, and he does die and she is devastated.
Who is behind this sabotage? The CSI team has a good idea, right away, and they also want to find out all the "whys." They particularly want to pin something on this head mob guy, "Joey Salucci," but get all the people involved in this crime beginning with the person was operating the crane. That turns out to be tricky.
There are two suspects in this case and it's interesting to see how Horatio and his CSI team goes after them.
