Did You Know?

Leonard and Sheldon's element naming game is by nature a short game, since so many elements end with the letter M, and so few start with it (only Mercury, Molybdenum, Magnesium, Manganese, and Mendelevium. Meitnerium is also available but Sheldon doesn't count it. See more »

[first lines]
Sheldon Cooper: Good morning, Leonard!
Leonard Hofstadter: Uh-huh.
Sheldon Cooper: We're going to have to stop by Pottery Barn on the way to work. I bought these Star Wars sheets, but they turned out to be much too stimulating to be compatible with a good night's sleep. I don't like the way Darth Vader stares at me.

CHUCK LORRE PRODUCTIONS, #220 Friday morning, October 10, 2008 Watching the market fall as precipitously as the hopes and dreams of NBC and ABC executives, I can't help but think that there are two bets I can make right now. One is on the simple inertia of a world economy created by hundreds of millions of people creating and servicing stuff that other people need and want. The other bet is on canned goods and guns. Since I've never actually fired a weapon and I'm not sure where my can opener is, I've decided to go with bet number one. If I'm wrong and the market continues to descend like a drug-addled hooker with vertigo, it's reasonable to assume that any new world order created by the complete collapse of the free market system will have little use for a comedy writer. For that reason I think it only prudent to hedge my bet. This weekend I plan on learning a few new survival skills, beginning with foraging for berries and hiding from people whose skill set includes shooting wildlife from helicopters. See more »

The Euclid Alternative was the funniest episode of "The Big Bang Theory" of this season so far
30 January 2009 | by (Baton Rouge, LA) – See all my reviews

Last Monday, CBS reran this episode from last October and since I couldn't watch TV at the time because of the events of Hurricane Gustav, I taped it. Leonard has been sleeping just after work because of an exhausting project. That's too bad for Sheldon since he can't drive and won't take the bus because they would not let him use the bungee cord for a seat belt. But after disastrous ridings with Penny, Howard, and Raj, they all intervene and tell Sheldon he should take a driving test. Because the lady in the counter doesn't want to have go from her desk and clobber Sheldon for his ridiculous questions, she gives his learner's permit. So now, with Howard's video game contraption, the gang guides Sheldon in his driving lesson. Too bad he ends up in a mall. So with that, Sheldon decides he's not meant for driving and decides to sleep at the university. By this time, Leonard's finished his project for a week but Sheldon doesn't know and now overnight he's got some Spanish maids scared with his leaving of bread crust and appearing in a dark hood nightgown...Quite a hilarious episode what with Sheldon annoying everyone with his constant jabbering though nothing topped his screaming like a little girl when he rode on back of Howard's scooter! Also funny was Penny hitting Sheldon's stomach with a pillow during the "driving" test to simulate an air bag. So on that note, The Euclid Alternative was the funniest episode of "The Big Band Theory" I've seen so far this season.
