HBO May Actually Make That 'Bored to Death' Movie

Rumors of a movie continuation of "Bored to Death," the Jonathan Ames-created quirky comedy that HBO canceled after three seasons in 2011, have been percolating ever since Ted Danson, one of its stars, started telling the press that a deal was close to being signed in October of 2012. An actor mentioning that a script is being worked on is still far from a project being a done deal, but today the Hollywood Reporter writes that a "Bored to Death" film is indeed in development at the premium cable channel. The project will focus on the continuing adventures of Brooklyn-based novelist turned unlicensed private investigator Jonathan (Jason Schwartzman), his graphic novelist friend Ray (Zach Galifianakis) and his perpetually high former editor George (Danson). Bored to Death may be coming back to life -- and bigger than ever before. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that HBO is developing a feature film that would continue the quirky adventures of the Brooklyn-based writer/amateur private eye played by Jason Schwartzman for three seasons between 2009-2011.
