Storyline

Late at night, in a rundown Cleveland neighborhood, a group of young men are drinking and having fun, when a rapid series of gunshots puts an end to the party. One man, 26-year-old Johnny Davis Jr., a father of five, pushes his brother, Justin, away. Then a bullet hits Johnny in the head. Johnny was always Justin's guardian angel: at the age of six he saved four-year-old Justin from a fire. Saving his brother's life again was his final gesture before becoming the victim of a homicide. Now, Det. Hank Veverka and his longtime partner, Det. Kathleen Carlin, are on the case. They soon learn that the weapon was an AK-47, an assault rifle. But finding the weapon itself, and the identity of the person who used it, will not be as easy. Written by J. Spurlin
