The film has been given a working title of “Kamikaze” with Rosalind Ross hired to adapt from John Wukovitz’s book “Hell From the Heavens: The Epic Story of the USS Laffey and World War II’s Greatest Kamikaze Attack.”
The crew of USS Laffey withstood an attack that included four bomb hits and six kamikaze planes crashing into the ship, setting the destroyer ablaze. A total of 32 men died and 71 were wounded that day. Captain Frederick Julian Becton refused to give up, saying “I’ll never abandon this ship as long as a single gun will fire.”

Back in January, Cult of Chucky, Universal 1440's highly-anticipated horror sequel, started production, with director Don Mancini and star Jennifer Tilly sharing the first set photos. Now that the film is in post-production, the wait for the first trailer begins. But before the first footage drops, writer-director Don Mancini descended upon the Monsterpalooza convention in Pasadena, California this weekend, where he shed some new light on this sequel. During his convention appearance, the director made quite the bold statement, revealing that this will be the goriest Chucky movie ever.
"The gore effects in this movie, this is definitly the goriest of all of the movies. [This] wasn't something [we] set out to do, it just sort of turned out that way."
Don Mancini was joined by Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif and animatronic effects supervisor Tony Gardner at the convention, with the director revealing that the story picks up directly after 2013's Curse of Chucky. »
Director Zack Snyder shared a photo on his Vero True Social account this morning that he took of British actor Henry Cavill from his first screen test for Man of Steel. He can be seen wearing a duplicate copy of the Christopher Reeve spandex Superman suit. Snyder himself took the photo, saying “From the first test with Henry…I knew right away he was my Superman”. The director can be seen in the mirror taking the picture.
Henry has talked about this particular screen test in the past, but this is the first time a photo of him in the suit has been officially released. He came in in January of 2011 for the screen test and was given the casting news two weeks later.
