New York City department store heads Jack Straus and Bernard F. Gimbel of the competing stores Macy's and Gimbel's were co-Mystery Guests. Their visit coincided with the Christmas shopping season. The telecast was live from New York and was sponsored by Remington electric shavers, with promotional consideration for American Airlines for guest transportation.
