User Reviews

Pretty average stuff here for the most part, not a whole lot to recommend.

Yes I'm aware this is the 1st ever Superbrawl, but that still doesn't change the fact that it's not that great overall. I was never fond of Dusty Rhodes as a commentator or Wrestler, I'll give him his due, but always found him to be overrated.

Your hosts are Jim Ross and Dusty Rhodes.

WCW United States Tag Team Championship.

The Fabulous Freebirds Vs The Young Pistols. Not a bad little match at all, but I'm certain they were capable of more. It had some decent spots, and I dug the ending. Freebirds win the titles due to a masked assailant.

2 1/2 /5

I was not able to view Dan Spivey Vs Rick Morton, Nikita Kolof Vs Tommy Rich, Dustin Rhodes vs Terrance Taylor, Big Josh Vs Black Bart or see Kevin Nash debut as Oz and defeat Tim Parker.

Taped Fist Match.

Barry Windham Vs Brian Pillman. Again not bad, but way too short and with these two it should have been much more. Some decent spots, but nothing that memorable. Windham wins with his super-plex.

2 1/2 /5

Stretcher Match.

El Gigante|Aka Giant Gonzalez| Vs Sid Vicious. Pure crap from beginning to end, why in the world would anyone wanna push somebody like Gonzalez?. Gigante wins and fends off outsiders after the match.

Steel Cage Match/W Teddy Long suspended above in a private cage.

Ron Simmons Vs Butch Reed. Nice pop for Simmons. Highly disappointing here, and it moved quite sluggish. It defines the word average and nothing that exciting ever happened. Simmons prevails.

WCW World Tag Team Championship.

The Steiners|C| Vs Sting&Lex Luger. This is the reason right here to see this PPV. An absolutely fabulous match, that excited me from the get-go. Near falls galore and the crowd was wild for it!. Steiners retain when Koloff decks Sting when aiming for Luger.

WCW World Television Championship.

Bobby Eaton Vs Arn Anderson|C|. Above average for the most part, but I wasn't that fond of it overall. Anderson is great technician and Bobby is capable of a lot, but I wasn't into it like I should have been. Eaton wins the title which is weird because he was a heel teaming with Arn at this time next year.

2 1/2 /5

WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

NWA Champion. Tatsumi Fujinami Vs WCW Champion Ric Flair. A Jumbled mess of a match, with both of them looking lost. This had tremendous potential but it certainly didn't live up to it, in fact I was bored silly. Flair wins.

Bottom line. Pretty average event and recommend historically but I'd just check out the brilliant tag title match if I were you.
