A biopic about the life of Kimbo Slice is currently being developed that will tell his story from street brawler to professional Mma competitor. The Kimbo Slice Movie, which is tentatively being called Kimbo, is a biopic that will look back at the fighter's eventful life story, from his early days as strip-club bouncer and porn studio bodyguard to becoming one of the first major viral YouTube stars as a backyard brawler on the streets of Miami, and then using that fame to propel him into fighting professionally in both Mma and boxing, until his untimely death at just 42-years-old. The intriguing story behind Kimbo Slice and his life life is being brought to the big screen by producers Steve Lee Jones and Andy and Michael Weiss.

Grease: Live! star Julianne Hough is set to take on the role of fitness pioneer Betty Weider in Bigger, the upcoming biopic of Joe and Ben Weider from director George Gallo (Middle Men).

The film will explore the rags to riches story of the Weider brothers, Jewish immigrants who rose from poverty to change the face of professional bodybuilding, launching the Mr. Olympia contest, and building an empire of fitness equipment and nutritional supplements. Betty, a former pinup model, and her husband Joe also co-founded Shape magazine, the most successful women’s health and fitness publication in the United States.

Bigger sees Tyler Hoechlin and Aneurin Barnard as Joe and Ben Weider, while the cast also includes Kevin Durand, Colton Haynes, Victoria Justice, Max Martini, Robert Forster, Tom Arnold and Calum Von Moger. »

Tyler Hoechlin to play Joe Weider in Bigger

Deadline is reporting that Tyler Hoechlin (Teen Wolf, Supergirl) has signed on to portray bodybuilding pioneer and Mr. Olympia founder Joe Weider in the biopic Bigger, which is being directed by George Gallo (29th Street, Middle Men).

First announced back in 2013 and written by Brad and Ellen FurmanAndy Weiss and Gallo, Bigger will tell the true story of Jewish immigrants Joe and Ben Weider and their rags to riches story in the world of professional bodybuilding.

“It’s beyond inspirational, and will resonate with not only the massive crowd of those who have found the balance of body and mind as essential for a healthy life but also the throngs of people that were inspired by Joe and his Mr. Olympia events,” states Gallo.

“The brothers’ story sets a powerful example of what hard work and extreme focus can achieve for the youth of today,” adds producer Steve Lee Jones of Bee Holder Productions. »
