31 July 2015 6:43 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

Mark Millar isn't happy about having to pay the BBC licence fee.

The writer of Kick-Ass and The Secret Service responded to the backlash from fans of Top Gear, who are unhappy about having to pay an annual fee to watch Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May's new show.

Top Gear without limits: Is Clarkson, Hammond and May's Amazon deal really good news for fans?

He wrote on Twitter: "People gasping at £70 a year for Amazon prime/ Top Gear, but I pay £145 a year for BBC shows I don't watch & go to court if I don't pay."

The message prompted a number of replies, both for and against the licence fee, with fans of Doctor Who and Sherlock quick to defend how the money is spent.

Millar replied: "Note to Sherlock & Dr Who fans: I could be wrong, but I think this are paid for by BBC Worldwide, »

Sneak Peek images and footage of "Kick-Ass" actress Chloë Grace Moretz in a recent issue of "Allure" magazine:

"I have an old soul," said Moretz, "so I can understand things that I don't think a lot of people can at my age."

"'Feminism', to me, is standing up for everything that someone else has already done for you. My mom has overcome so much in her life. She makes me want to stand up for myself.

"Stand up to the studio heads who try to tell me that I can't have blonde hair. They want brown hair. Or I need bigger boobs, or I need to work out.

"Or I'm too skinny, so, like, 'Eat a cheeseburger.' I stand up for myself every day of my life. I grew up in a family of four boys. I'm, like, a born feminist..."

'Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising' Gets Chloe Moretz as the Female Lead

27 July 2015 8:45 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

If you are doing a follow-up to the 2014 comedy hit Neighbors, of course you're going to want it to be a little different. The sequel is planning just that as it gets officially titled Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. And next year, after battling a couple of raunchy Frat Boys, Seth Rogen and his on-screen wife Rose Byrne are going to be going to war with the mother of all Sorority sisters, Chloe Moretz, who confirms herself as the female lead.

Seth Rogen spent the final half of 2014 in the news for his controversial comedy The Interview. A terrorist group demanded the film be canceled, taking responsibility for the massive Sony hack that saw quite a few embarrassing emails leaked. While the movie did decent numbers after it was officially released in a handful of independent theaters and on VOD, Seth Rogen found greater success early in the summer with Neighbors. »

"Thor: Ragnarok"

23 July 2015 7:48 PM, PDT | SneakPeek | See recent SneakPeek news »

Take another look @ the origins of Marvel Comics' super-villain 'Ragnarok', appearing in Marvel Studios' next "Thor" solo movie "Thor: Ragnarok", that will reportedly feature horse-faced warrior 'Beta Ray Bill':

'Ragnarok', created by Mark Millar of "Kick-Ass" fame,  is a supervillain debuting in Marvels "Civil War" #3 (July 2006) as a 'cyborg clone' of Thor.

"...when 'Thor' was missing in action, presumed dead, 'Tony Stark' took one of his hairs, which he had retained from the first meeting of the 'Avengers' and cloned the 'Asgardian' DNA with Stark technology. This resulted in the creation of a new, cyborg Thor.

"Ragnarok has all the powers and knowledge of Thor including super-strength, extensive combat knowledge, stamina, high resistance to physical injury, immunity to Earthly diseases, superhuman agility and reflexes.

"Ragnarok's hammer, though not the enchanted 'Mjolnir', is constructed of a 'vibranium' and 'adamantium' alloy, able to absorb and discharge lightning, with circuitry in its head, »

Neighbors 2 Adds Rising Star For Prominent Role

23 July 2015 1:52 PM, PDT | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

Since breaking out in 2010 thanks her her performance as Hit-Girl in Matthew Vaughn's violent comic book adaptation Kick-Ass, Chloe Moretz has grown from being a child actor to a full-fledged star. This rise has largely been thanks to her roles in dramatic movies like Let Me In, Hugo and Carrie, but now she's preparing to flex her comedy muscles in a big way by taking a part in director Nicholas Stoller's upcoming Neighbors 2. News of this casting comes from Deadline, which sadly doesn't have any specific details regarding the plot of Neighbors 2 or what Chloe Moretz's character's role will be within what. What the trade does confirm is that the young actress is joining a cast full of stars returning from the first movie, including Seth Rogen as Mac, Rose Byrne as his wife Kelly, and Zac Efron as former frat house president Teddy. Chloe Moretz Joins Neighbors 2

23 July 2015 12:36 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne are getting a new neighbor. Chloe Moretz, the teen actress who recently toplined Ya tearjerker If I Stay and broke out back in 2010 with Kick-Ass, has joined the talented trio in Neighbors 2. Nicholas Stoller is back in the director’s chair for the follow-up to last year’s summer smash hit, working from a script by Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien.

The first film centered on a young married couple (Rogen and Byrne) who moved into a seemingly pleasant neighborhood with their newborn daughter only to come up against the college fraternity next door, headed by charismatic but cold-hearted Teddy (Efron).

More News From The Web

Plot details for the sequel are being kept under wraps, but Moretz makes sense for the role of a sorority sister, perhaps a similar head honcho to Efron’s Teddy, who butts heads with the central couple. »

Do We Now Know The Plot Of The Third Wolverine Movie?

13 July 2015 3:42 AM, PDT | www.themoviebit.com | See recent TheMovieBit news »

As we all know, Hugh Jack will be popping the claws one final time with 2017’s third Wolverine movie, saying goodbye to the character he has played for fifteen years. Up until now, the plot has been the subject of much speculation, but, speaking at the Fox Comic-Con panel this weekend, Jackman himself may have spilled the beans. Taking to the stage at the final, X-Men centric part of the panel, he addressed those in attendance with, “I’ve got three words for you: Old Man Logan”, no doubt sending many X-Men fans into a frenzy. For those of you not in the know, Old Man Logan is the name of an uber-popular 2008 storyline by writer Mark Millar (creator of Kick-Ass) and artist Steve McNiven which took us to a post apocalyptic future for the Marvel Universe, one where the super villains had won and divided America amongst themselves. Sneak Peek the first image of actor Daniel Brühl ("Inglourious Basterds"), aka Marvel Comics' super-villain 'Baron Zemo', on the Atlanta set of "Captain America: Civil War":

The original Marvel Comics' 'Zemo' was one of the top scientists in the Third Reich, creating weapons of mass destruction...

In an attempt to regain a level of anonymity, Zemo began wearing a reddish-pink hood over his face as he continued to build weapons.

His scientific breakthroughs also included 'Adhesive X', which after a confrontation with Captain America, bonded to his face, quickly seeping inside and permanently attaching the hood to his flesh, preventing Zemo from ever removing his hood.

His sons and direct descendants also picked up the name of 'Zemo' as »

Paul Thomas Anderson Tackling Pinocchio Script

Here’s a filmmaking trio we’re not sure anyone could have predicted, even if they’d stapled Nostradamus’ skull to Paul the football result-predicting octopus’ memorial: Paul Thomas Anderson. Robert Downey Jr. Pinocchio. Yet they are indeed being brought together as Anderson is now aboard to rewrite and potentially direct the latest take on the puppet story.Robert Downey Jr. and producing partner/wife Susan Downey have been trying to get this one to screens for years now, setting up the project with the idea that the once and future Tony Stark will play Geppetto, the woodcarver whose puppet boy is granted the gift of life. Hannibal’s Bryan Fuller, Kick-Ass co-writer Jane Goldman and The Giver’s Michael Mitnick are among those who have completed drafts based on Carlo Collodi’s book, but Downey hasn’t yet found what he’s looking for, even tweaking the script himself in recent months. »

Paul Thomas Anderson is Writing Robert Downey Jr.'s 'Pinocchio' & May Direct

There are more than a few live-action fairy tale re-imaginings brewing inside the Hollywood system right now, but Robert Downey Jr's long-gesturing new take on Pinocchio just got a lot more clout. He roped in Paul Thomas Anderson to pen the fairy tale's screenplay. There's also a solid chance the filmmaker will take this on as his next directorial project. This project becomes the next step in the celebrity's longstanding friendship. The two of them have looked to work together for some time, and almost got the chance when Downey signed on to play the lead in Anderson's latest, last year's Inherent Vice, before the actor had to drop out due to pesky Avengers: Age of Ultron obligations. Downey is slated to produce this new movie with his wife, Susan, for Team Downey and alongside Dan Jinks, so there's little chance of this one slipping from their collective cracks, »
