Storyline
After a four year absence, Stephen Ezard returns to the UK to attend his brother Michael's funeral. The two had grown apart and lost contact so Stephen's not aware of just how much his brother was loved in the community. Michael was an aid worker who was killed when he drove over a landmine in his jeep. At Michael's flat, Stephen is surprised to meet his brother's wife, Yasim Anwar, a medical doctor who is treating a severely ill woman in the spare room. Stephen is a mathematician and is soon offered funding by a company that is hoping to win a contract for total information access or TIA, a single all-purpose database for all of the UK that is about to become law. As strange events build upon one another - Yasim disappears, as does the downstairs neighbor - Stephen begins to use TIA to find out exactly what may have happened. What he doesn't realize is that agents of national security are also monitoring him and are particularly interested in the woman who lay dying in the spare room... Written by
