2012. The dawn of destruction. As giant alien machines enslave and feed off humanity, the few remaining survivors band together to form a armed militia that will be the last stand against total extinction.
This movie is kind of entertaining for the sci-fi fan. It has many references to other Sci-Fi creations, including Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate, Battle Star Galatcia and Dune. In fact the film must assume many of the users are familiar with many of these Stories as elements of each are used throughout. For instance Stargates are used both with no explanation of what for. The film is scattered with cheesy humor, that gives it much charm. The start of the movie features a 5+ minute prologue, which in part seems to be put in to extend the movie length. Don't see it to be blown away by special effects. See it when you are in the mood for some grade B Sci-fi.
