Storyline

While Booth enjoys playing with his preteen son Parker, the boisterous boy accidentally finds a severed finger. Dr. Lance Sweets reassures Booth his boy is fine, not traumatized at all. The victim is a missing veterinarian, who is somehow connected to illegal dogfights, and to the death on Don Timmons's farm in the area where the dismembered corpse was found. Don's son Robbie was an apprentice at the vet's surgery and was tutored by Dr. Andrew Hopp, who vouches for the family, discrediting the vet. Written by KGF Vissers

Pointing the finger
7 December 2008 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Booth and his son find a finger in a bird's nest while at the park. The body that later turns up belongs to that of a veterinarian who apparently was killed by a dog with very sharp teeth. This leads Booth and Brennan to dogfight clubs, among other things. In one very funny bit, they visit a junkyard, where Booth must teach Brennan the etiquette of dealing with rural folks. The junkyard dog gives Booth the willies, but Brennan takes right to it and ends up playing with it, to Booth's dismay. In addition, Booth worries about the state of his son's mental health in the wake of their gruesome discovery. Brennan assures Booth he has nothing to worry about. After all, when she was little, she discovered the body of an elderly neighbor and look how she turned out!
