Trivia

The Janis Joplin-biopic sub-plot may allude to the fact that at one time two movies about Joplin really went into production in Hollywood at the same time. One was called "Pieces of Me" and was supposed to star Renée Zellweger. The other (called "The Gospel According to Janis Joplin") was supposed to be directed by Penelope Spheeris and either Pink or Zooey Deschanel were rumored to star. As of 2009, none of the movies were made and both seem to be shut down forever. See more »

Excellent Episode!
24 November 2014 | by See all my reviews

This is the seventh episode of the third season of 30 Rock and it's another funny, uproarious episode. All the story lines are clever and the jokes are sharp. Not only do we have a famous guest star, we actually get two of them: Salma Hayek and Peter Dinklage. Both do an excellent job, but Dinklage absolutely steals every scene he is in.

In this episode, "Senor Macho Solo," Jack falls in love with a nurse who is taking care of his mother. Liz finds herself in another situation when she pats a man on the head, thinking he was a child. But they go on a date so Liz wouldn't have to admit her mistake. Also, Jenna wants to audition for a role as Janis Joplin.

Overall, this is a funny episode and an improvement over the last episode. The guest stars are the best, and the episode does not disappoint. I rate this episode 9/10.
