Scream Queens is a reality-TV show which involves ten young actresses competing for a role that could boost, or in some cases, start their careers in the entertainment industry. Over the course of several weeks the women will face a series of tough challenges, and each weak one of the girls will "get the ax" and be voted off by judges James Gunn (writer/director - Slither), Shawnee Smith ("Amanda" from the SAW movies) and tough LA acting coach John Homa. The winning lady of the competition - "The Scream Queen" will win a starring role in the upcoming 2009 horror sequel "Saw VI".
Scream Queens is a fun, refreshing reality-TV show with laughs and plenty of entertainment to offer in every episode and great horror challenges - whether being possessed, having a chase scene, getting into pools of blood etc. - these girls don't have it easy. You can tell these women are actually boosting their skills, have acting dreams and goals and aren't just desperate gals wanting to be on TV for 15 minutes. There's the humble and experienced Lindsay, bitchy (and very entertaining) Michelle, posh Jo-Ann, determined Lina, rookie (but very talented) Tanedra, psychotic (and funny as hell) Jessica, tomboy Sarah, fighter Angela, model Kylah and theatrical Marissa.
I loved Scream Queens. Great challenges, a great set of girls and plenty of entertainment. I also love a good old cat fight, and there were a few in Scream Queens (after all, ten girls in a house, it ain't gonna be pretty)! Horror is my favorite genre, so it was great to see a reality-TV show that dealt with the horror genre and actresses winning a role in a horror movie. With season one just finished, it would be great to see another season, whether it's to win a role in "Saw VII" or an entirely new horror flick, just give us another season of this great new show!
