Preacher is one of my favorite series currently running on TV and it's going to be released on Blu-ray and DVD October 4.

The first season takes a while to get going, mostly because of character development but it really gets going. Lots of gore and is damned hilarious in spots. Very interesting characters as well. Can't wait for season 2. Read more about the upcoming release below.

From the Press Release

Based on the popular 1990s cult comic book series of the same name, the critically-acclaimed Preacher: Season One arrives on Blu-ray™ and DVD October 4 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The darkly comedic, hard-hitting, supernatural thrill-ride follows Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper, TV’s “Agent Carter,” Captain America: The First Avenger) who, after a supernatural event at his church, is thrust into a crazy world populated by a cast of characters from Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between. »

X-men: Apocalypse Star Michael Fassbender Says Alien: Covenant Is “Much Scarier Than Prometheus”

26 July 2016 5:30 PM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Based on comments from the cast, Alien: Covenant won’t be a joyride. A few months ago, director Ridley Scott revealed that the upcoming film will receive “a pretty hard R” rating, and a scene that’s "much worse" than the vicious chestbuster sequence from Alien. On top of that, Danny McBride (Pineapple ExpressThis Is the End), a few weeks ago, said that the upcoming film is a “dark horror movie,” that has no comic relief at all. Now, Michael Fassbender is the latest member of the cast to assure the film’s scariness. In a recent interview with Collider, the 39 year old actor promised that the 2017 film will frighten a lot of people. “This Alien is going to be...I’m very excited to see it and everybody in the film was saying this is a film that we all want to see. It’s much scarier than »

Sausage Party 2 Already Planned Says Seth Rogen

22 July 2016 5:31 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

In just a few weeks, Sony Pictures' R-rated Sausage Party will hit theaters, but writer/producer/voice actor Seth Rogen brought this outrageous comedy to Comic-Con last night for an early screening, and to release a new red band trailer. Before the screening, Seth Rogen introduced the film to the audience, where he teased that a sequel is already in the works. Of course, nothing has been confirmed by the studio quite yet, but it seems that Seth Rogen and his collaborators are already working on ideas for Sausage Party 2.

The closest Seth Rogen has ever come to making a traditional sequel was in his 2013 comedy This Is the End. In that movie, the actor played himself and, with the help of James Franco and the rest of their friends, they made a sequel to their 2008 stoner comedy Pineapple Express, while they were trapped inside after the rapture hit Los Angeles. »

Danny McBride shows off the cockpit in Alien: Covenant behind-the-scenes photo

22 July 2016 10:13 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

To celebrate the end of production on Ridley Scott’s Prometheus sequel, Alien: Covenant, star Danny McBride took to Instagram to share a photo of himself on set. In the film, McBride portrays a pilot, so it’s only fitting that the posted picture features the actor in his ship’s cockpit, sporting a space cowboy look. The snapshot was accompanied by a caption that read, “That’s a wrap on #aliencovenant. Ridley is going to scare the shit out of you.” See it here…

Of course, the actor is best known for his comedic work in such films and TV shows as Pineapple Express, This is the End, Eastbound and Down and Vice Principals (which premiered on HBO last week), so Covenant will certainly be new territory for McBride, as it brings him into a darker and more horror-infused environment.

Containment Season 1 Episode 13 Review: Path to Paradise

19 July 2016 9:21 PM, PDT | TVfanatic | See recent TVfanatic news »

It's been a fun ride, hasn't it, y'all? Containment Season 1 Episode 13 definitely managed to wrap this limited series up with a neat little bow.

Since we've known this was the only season of Containment we'd be getting, the countdown to resolution has been ticking. There could be no cliffhangers in the final episode, and what we were given was a nice end to what has been a pretty great series.

But truthfully, I'm still trying hard not to be disappointed that this is all we get. Enjoy it while it lasts or something, right?

It's difficult to discuss series finales in general, but it's even more difficult to discuss them when there's only been one season, because there's good and bad which comes with knowing a series is ending.

The writers have time to prepare and create closure for the storylines. The actors have time to find new gigs. The »

Danny McBride Talks HBO’s ‘Vice Principals,’ Bill Murray, and Telling a Complete Story

17 July 2016 10:30 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

HBO’s new comedy series “Vice Principals” is a strange beast. Created by the “Eastbound and Down” team of director Jody Hill and star Danny McBride, the 18-episode series explores the uncomfortable alliance between two rival vice principals (McBride and “Justified” veteran Walton Goggins) as they team up to take down the school’s new principal (Kimberly Hebert Gregory).

The cabler launches the first batch of nine episodes on July 17, following the second season premiere of Dwayne Johnson’s “Ballers,” and we’ll presumably see the next nine in 2017. And then that’s it. End of story. It’s a model more common to limited series, or certain British shows (“The Office” comes to mind), and all but unheard of in U.S. television.

Variety spoke with McBride about the unusual format of the show, his standout co-stars (including a Bill Murray cameo in the premiere episode), and making his directorial debut.

Danny McBride Says “There Is No Comic Relief” In Ridley Scott’s Alien Covenant

13 July 2016 11:30 AM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

Danny McBride might be used to acting in comedy films such as "This Is the End", but, his role in Ridley Scott's Alien Covenant will be drastically different from any character he's played before.  When it was revealed that McBride would star in Alien: Covenant, many people assumed (including McBride himself), that the 39-year old actor had signed on to play the comic relief, but according to a new interview with Hitfix, it's quite the contrary. "I got the script and I’m like this s–t is dark! There is no comic relief in this at all. This is a dark horror movie," McBride said. "That was exciting. To be able to step into something like that and to participate in a way that not relying on things I’d done before.”   A few days ago, McBride revealed that he plays "the pilot of the spaceship Covenant, which is a colonization ship, »

Humans Are The True Enemy In Extended Sausage Party TV Spot

11 July 2016 11:10 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

If This is the End and Neighbors showcased the wild side of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, Sausage Party will soon invite moviegoers into a dark, twisted alternate reality where human beings are the one true enemy.

Set to arrive in little over a month’s time, a new and extended TV spot has surfaced online, showcasing the terror that awaits beyond the doors of the supermarket. For in Sausage Party, anthropomorphic nibbles dream of leaping off the shelves and into shopping carts, oblivious to the fact that they all face imminent death.

Bizarre, yet oddly endearing, our own Matt Donato caught a work-in-progress version of Sausage Party, heaping praise on the movie’s irreverent tone and barrage of food-related puns.

Among the cast enlisted to bring Rogen and Goldberg’s oddball comedy to life are Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, Michael Cera, James Franco, Paul Rudd, »

Sausage Party Extended TV Spot Declares War on All Humans

11 July 2016 10:55 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Is Sausage Party the Saving Private Ryan of CG animated comedies? The latest extended sneak peek surely supports that idea. After an innocent hot dog is sliced right down the middle, his food friends all decided to take a stand. In the process, they call an all-out war on the human race. But let's face it. These guys are all pretty far down the food chain, and when the BBQ smoke clears, the jams and jellies have beed mopped up, and all the guac has been sponged off the floor, we can't imagine these edibles will reign victorious.

Sausage Party is about one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store. This latest sneak peek brings new footage, and all of it is downright terrifying. While the R-rated »

Danny McBride Talks Piloting 'Alien: Covenant' and Running from Xenomorphs

6 July 2016 7:44 PM, PDT | LatinoReview | See recent LatinoReview news »

I feel like Prometheus was the victim of a vocal minority, meaning, a lot more people liked it than hated it, but the voices of dissent were much, much louder than those of us that realized its greatness. Needless to say, I'm very psyched for director Ridley Scott's sequel Alien: Covenant.

Once again we get a ship's crew in deep space who come into contact with some alien beings who are less than hospitable, but why are they even in space to begin with? The crew of Prometheus was looking for nothing less than the origin of human existence. Will it be the same for the crew of Covenant? Let's see what the ship's pilot has to say.

Danny McBride, best known, per Rolling Stone, for playing a dickhead in movies like This Is the End and TV shows such as HBO's Eastbound and Down, will be piloting the Covenant, »
