Movies about serial killers are a dime a dozen ... but movies about serial killers who are extra nasty and like to taunt authorities? Well, they can be really fun! Case in point - Medium Raw: Night of the Wolf, which after many delays is finally hitting DVD.

Katrina Bowden Ready To Bounce Around In 'Piranha 3Dd'

"Piranha 3Dd" got a little bit steamier (go figure) with the casting addition of Katrina Bowden to the cast. The Weinstein Company's second journey back into the deadly fish-infested waters of "Piranha 3Dd" will be directed by  John Gulager ("Feast"). The cast for this horror-comedy includes Gary BuseyDanielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka, David Koechner, Meagan Tandy, Paul James JordanJean-Luc Bilodeau, Hector Jimenez, Adrian Martinez, and Clu Gulager. No word on what the story of "Piranha 3Dd" will be about, though it's easy to guess who will be its villains. Principal photography for the upcoming sequel is going on right now, finishing up rather quickly so it can meet its November 23rd release date for this year.Katrina Bowden is best known for her work in the television comedy series "30 Rock." She's also appeared in other movies such as "Sex Drive," "Tucker & Dale vs Evil" and "The Shortcut.

Dave Franco Gets His Bully Face On for 'Fright Night'

Dave Franco (known to me as the crazy annoying guy on "Scrubs" and Happy Madison's The Shortcut) has been added to the cast of Craig Gillespie's remake of 1985 campy horror film Fright Night, reports the Playlist. The project is currently shooting in New Mexico and boasts a strong cast including Anton Yelchin as the lead, Toni Collette as his mother, Imogen Poots as his love interest, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as his friend "Evil Ed", David Tennant as magician Peter Vincent and Colin Farrell as a Jaws-like vampire living next door. "I play the arrogant asshole-bully," explained Franco. "Anton plays the main kid so I'm his nemesis at school until he runs into Colin who is supposed to be the ultimate bad guy in the movie. Yeah I play the dk, so it's fun." Penned by Marti Noxon ("Mad Men"), the vamps move in on October 7, 2011.

Katrina Bowden Romantically Linked to Helmer Nicholaus Goossen

Actress Katrina Bowden's friendship with "The Shortcut" director Nicholaus Goossen is heating up - they have reportedly become a couple since working on the film. Goossen directed the "30 Rock" star in the 2009 thriller, and reportedly became interested in the 21-year-old on set.

According to U.S. magazine Star, the Los Angeles-based filmmaker has been dating Bowden - who's currently filming the hit U.S. TV series in New York - for several months. A source says of the long-distance romance, "He's worth it, because he's just perfect for her."

Back in 2007, Katrina Bowden also sparked rumor that she was romantically linked to "Gossip Girl" hunk Chace Crawford following their outing at the Angel Ball. A source shared, " Crawford was spotted dancing with his arms wrapped around her. He's been texting (Katrina). He told her that he's not dating Carrie (Underwood)."

Rapid Fire: Trick 'R Treat, The Children, The Shortcut

  • Fangoria
This past week a handful of standout DVD's hit the streets including the highly anticipated Trick 'R Treat and the Ghost House Pictures shocker The Children. A few disjointed films also hit the public market, but I'll steer clear of those duds for the time being and share some insight into some worthwhile cinema.

Trick 'R Treat focuses on four separate Halloween tales that all intersect ala a Tarantino script structure. There's plenty of vengeful ghosts, sexy lycanthropes and odd ball creatures to keep the goose bumps surfacing. Also involved in the story is a father who could use some serious parenting lessons, unless of course his ultimate goal is to raise homicidal maniacs, in which case - kudos to him, he's doing a damn fine job.

One of the beautiful things about this picture is how smoothly Michael Dougherty (who wrote and directed the picture) ties each tale together.

Exclusive: The Shortcut 's Nicholaus Goossen

For filmmaker Nicholaus Goossen, having your second full length feature film be a genre movie isn't such a bad thing, especially when it's the first to come from Adam Sandler's production company Happy Madison (dubbed "Scary Madison" for their horror flicks). But naturally, like with any horror film, there were plenty of challenges along the way; including a last minute decision to forego the planned original R rated version and shoot for a PG-13 instead. Shock Till You Drop got the chance to sit down with Goossen for a quick cup of coffee at a little café in Venice to discuss the making of The Shortcut , which Anchor Bay Entertainment releases on September 27. Read on for the full interview! Robg.: First and foremost, I heard that you got your start working with...

Drew Seeley brings fiction to life

"Drew Seeley brings fiction to life"

By Michael Aaron Gallagher

In what could have been a scene right out of Warner Premiere's “Another Cinderella Story,” Drew Seeley, who starred opposite teen sensation Selena Gomez as the fictional pop singer Joey Parker, made dozens of girls swoon as he took the stage at the 2009 Great New York State Fair in Syracuse, NY.

Drew Seeley serenades a fan during his recent concert.

Fans arrived early to reserve seats for the free afternoon concert in Chevrolet Court. Some audience members carried signs and wore hand decorated t-shirts, while others held out roses for the pop star.

Singing a mix of songs from “High School Musical,” including “Get'cha Head in the Game” and “Breaking Free,” a duet with special guest Tiffany Giardina, Seeley performed without a band or backup dancers.

At one point, he briefly jumped down off the stage to sing one of his songs among the crowd,

Nicholaus Goossen Talks The Shortcut

Even though his first horror film, The Shortcut, is about to hit DVD shelves on September 29th, that doesn’t mean director Nicholaus Goossen is a newcomer to the scene. Goossen has actually been working in Hollywood since he was still in high school.

Goossen grew up in a boxing family surrounded by celebrities but it was the opportunity to work on the set of The Wedding Singer as an intern that ended up being a life-changing experience for him.

“The first day I got to set, Adam Sandler walked right up to me and introduced himself,” explained Goossen. “I honestly think it was because I was wearing a basketball jersey and he was looking for someone to play with. We immediately became friends which led to me working on the rest of his films from then on.”

After working on a series of Happy Madison (Sandler’s production company) films behind the scenes,

The Shortcut (DVD Review)

  • Fangoria
The idea of Adam Sandler backing a horror film (under his new Scary Madison banner) needn’t automatically be a negative one; after all, funnyman Mel Brooks’ productions have included the modern classic The Fly, the darkly brilliant The Elephant Man and best-selling zombie author Max Brooks. And, as is revealed on the DVD (coming September 29 from Anchor Bay) of Scary Madison’s first feature The Shortcut, Sandler—who doesn’t take an onscreen credit—and co. were all about making it an R-rated feature; it was the financiers who came on board during preproduction who insisted it be watered down for youth-audience consumption.

The result is a movie that feels awkwardly caught between competing ambitions. It dances around dark territory without fully committing, putting an equal emphasis on typical screen-teen behavior; people die, but little onscreen blood is shed. (There are any number of action flicks, and even horror films,

Adam Sandler's Shortcut DVD Art and Date

The artwork for the first horror film being produced by Adam Sandler, The Shortcut, has shown up online, and all in all I have to say I’m really not impressed. Come on, guys! Enough with the pouty teens! I wanna kill the chick on the left myself just for the look on her face.

The Shortcut is the story of a new guy, who is of course very good looking, moving to a new school, full of good looking people, who is warned not to take the town’s infamous shortcut because (good looking) kids disappear when they do. And if you ever want a teenager to do anything, the quickest way is to warn them against doing it. Teenagers are stupid that way.

The artwork surfaced today on DVDActive. Dig on it below and look for The Shortcut on DVD from Anchor Bay on September 29th. Thanks to
