Great movie!
15 February 2012 | by (Germany) – See all my reviews

I've seen the film at Biberacher Filmfestspiele and I was thrilled! A quiet, heart-touching movie, beautiful pictures and great characters. The film tells the story of Bogdan - superbly acted by Zbigniew Zamachowski - a husband who loses his wife and in his grief threatens to sink. It may sound absurd, but it is a cow, which he brings out of his depth and shows him - and us - how beautiful life can be.

In German cinema, it is now released under the title "Sommer auf dem Land" ("Summer in the countryside"), which unfortunately doesn't reflect the heartwarming tragicomedy ... and above all, it keeps the real star of the film secret: the cow!!
