That’s right, your favourite female revenge movie is getting the Hollywood treatment. Of course it’s being remade, the film has achieved a certain notoriety as a result of it’s shocking nature, it would be foolish to not to resurrect it and rape it (sorry) for financial gain. We all understand that Hollywood is going to remake every film that may pull an audience until there are none left, and I think it’s time to accept it and roll with the banal punches. So, ‘I Spit On Your Grave’ is the next one on the chopping block. For those not familiar with the plot, a woman is abducted, raped, brutalized and left for dead. She isn’t dead, though, and she spends the rest of the film exacting twisted revenge on her abusers. Anchor Bay’s remake is being shot in Shreveport, La, with Steven Monroe directing »
Bloody Disgusting has been on the forefront of everything related to Anchor Bay's I Spit On Your Grave (aka Day Of The Woman) remake, which is currently lensing in Shreveport, La. With the cast locked in and Steven Monroe behind the camera, not much is known other than Anchor Bay is pushing to get this out by October of 2010. Over this holiday weekend Moviehole caught up with Monroe who talked about his love for the original, how they've modernized this revenge tale and a bit about who he thinks is going to be a big time star. In the original, a woman is abducted, brutally attacked and raped and then left for dead. She survives, hunts her attackers and dispatches them in graphic ways. Director Steven Monroe talked a bit about upping the ante. More »
Looks like the "Woman" is about to have her "Day" again thanks to CinTel Films and Anchor Bay Entertainment. Yep, another remake is on the way and according to IMDb the cast is taking shape quite nicely.
Andrew Howard (Devil's Chair, Blood River, Lustig), Sarah Butler, Jeff Branson, Chad Lindberg (Push), Daniel Franzese (Killer Pad, War of the Worlds), Rodney Eastman (Joey in A A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors and A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4: The Dream Master), Saxon Sharbino, Amber Dawn Landrum, and Chad Lindberg (Push).
I guess if Last House on the Left could get the do-over treatment than this one was pretty much a no-brainer. Check out the trailer for the original below. »

One of the nice things about being a gay horror filmmaker is, after you hang around awhile, you realize you’re part of a nice little club. And eventually, it feels like you all know each other.
I first met Jeffrey Reddick at a cast and crew screening of one of my films. Paul (Hellbent) Etheredge-Ouzts brought his friend “Jeffrey” to the screening, and we chit-chatted a bit afterward. On the way home my brain added up all the stuff we talked about, and suddenly it clicked—Was that the writer of Final Destination?
Since then we’ve become friends and, in the grand tradition of Hollywood, mainly see each other at screenings and conventions. He’s a busy guy, and kinda sorta has that career that many of us indie flick filmmakers dream of—access to the people who make it happen, and big(ger) budgets.
