"You gave me back my life, you know that, don't you?"
27 August 2012 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

There's a few goodbyes that should be there and shouldn't(and the fact that most of the characters Sally fails to say goodbye to are on the cast list underlines this)and the complete absence of Sally's own daughter is weird. But, aside from the misjudged involvement of Noel which serves to sour the farewell, most of Sally's scenes here sparkle, from her silent visits to the beach and the house, her brief moment with Carly, her emotional farewell with Miles and her final scene on the beach with Alf, which features a long overdue reassessment of their relationship.

Meanwhile, McGrath addresses some other long overdue stuff by confronting Jack about his recent misdemeanours.Tony and Rachel's concern over him, and Jack's accurate observation about what people will say when they find out about Sam, are well pitched.
