Storyline

Life is good for Dexter. His relationship with Rita is going really well and he's thrilled when Cody asks him if he would come to his school on Dad's day. He's also disposing of certain individuals according to his father Harry's code of conduct. He chooses his next victim, a drug dealer known as Freebo but on the night in question finds that a stranger is in the house. Dexter is attacked and kills the man who turns out to be Oscar Prado, the younger brother of a highly respected Assistant District Attorney Miguel Prado. Dexter can't quite figure out what Oscar was doing in the house and is bothered by the fact that he has killed someone outside of Harry's code. Dexter's sister Debra is put in charge of the Prado case by newly promoted Sgt. Angel Batista but her big mouth gets her into trouble. She is also approached by an officer from Internal Affairs who have an interest in a new squad member, Joey Quinn, but she refuses to cooperate. Written by garykmcd

The Start of a Promising Season!
9 October 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This is the first episode of the third season of Dexter and it looks like we are in store for yet another promising season of the man who is a blood spatter analyst by day and a serial killer by night. As it seems right now, this season may not focus on a particular killer like the previous two seasons, so this may be a good chance of pace. Plus life is good for Dexter. While Dexter broods during the first two seasons, he seems more happy this season, if the first episode is any indication.

This episode, "Our Father," brings us the return of Dexter Morgan a couple months after the events of season two. Dexter has a happy life as his relationship with Rita is going very well and her kids look up to him as their father. Dexter is also disposing of people using his father's code of conduct. But one day, he happens to kill a innocent person, who happens to be the son of a well-connected District Attorney. Debra is assigned to the case by the now Sergeant Batista. But as we all know, Debra mouth does tend to find her some trouble...

Overall, this is a really good episode and the quality picks up right where we left it from last season. It seems that we are in for quite an interesting ride. And the cliffhanger that is presented at the final scene? Well I love it and we are in for a treat. I rate this episode 9/10.
