Jim Carrey's profile in Hate
cluelesswill28 March 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I saw Jim Carrey's true colors back in the early nineties when he appeared in this particularly vicious "comedy" sketch mocking Reginald Denny, the innocent truck driver pulled from his cab and beaten nearly to death in the LA riots. In the sketch, Carrey cruelly ridicules Denny's injuries. Carrey, master of comic facial expressions, moves his eyes in opposite directions, making fun of Denny's dislocated eye socket. Truly repugnant stuff. Imagine if a Hollywood "Star" mocked Gabby Gifford's brain injuries in a similar fashion.

One has to wonder, "Why all the hate?" what was Reginald Denny's offense against Jim Carrey? Perhaps it was simply that Reginald Denny was the wrong kind of victim for liberal sensibilities. Denny's sin against the Hollywood establishment was to be the white victim of a black mob, a sin not to be tolerated. Jim Carrey's mission was to ensure that Reginald Denny would be dehumanized, that Denny would be viewed as an object of ridicule rather than as a victim deserving sympathy.

There is a lot of liberal talk about "bullying" nowadays, but what is it when a rich, famous "Star" like Jim Carrey uses his wealth and power to ridicule a injured and defenseless working class fellow like Reginald Denny? Jim Carrey is a talented comic... and a truly sickening human being.
